Jurassic Park...15 yr anniversary

The other day Faiz and I saw a commercial celebrating Jurassic Park for being made 15 years ago. And we were both floored at how long ago it came out. I remember going to see it in the Theatres. I was 7 or 8...my sister was like 3. And my sisters father (who was still with my mom at the time) was terrified of the movie, and yet my little sister LOVED it and it quickly became one of her favourite movies (along with The Terminator and the Aliens movies, all at that young age....it might explain why she's so screwed up ).

I'm just AMAZED that it was 15 years ago! I mean...wow...it was so long ago! I also remember reading the books (or trying to) just after the movie came out. I'm sure I didn't understand half of what was going on in the books at 8, but I remember the kitchen scene with Lex and Tim being WAY cooler than in the movie.

Anyways. Just thought I'd see what other people remember about this, 15 yrs ago.

And yeah, amazing the way they made all those dinosaurs out of animatronics.

I think he might have been Australian, although the actor is English.

I was about Faded's age when I saw it with my Mother I think.

I can still recall being in the theater the first time I heard that music...

And they killed Samuel L. Jackson before anyone knew who the hell he was...

One of my top ten movies of all time. Up there with Star Wars and the like.

techniclly it's not 15 years until this summer, but yeah good movie. Just don't read the book otherwise the movie seems incredibly Dry by comparison.

I do have to wonder if this movie would still be a hit if they used current special effects.

The PC's at that time, if I remember correctly, used original Pentium Processers.
