James Bond Theory

Rider Strike

Thumbs Down
I was watching Casino Royal again and I remembered Mike's "James Bond is a Time Lord Theory" from R5 Central. This is from the fact that the movies do not go in chronological order to the books. My theory is more possible though, it's that James is a name passed down thru the Bond family. This would make,

James Bond I (Sean Connery)
James Bond II (George Lazenby)
James Bond III (Roger Moore)
James Bond IV (Timothy Dalton)
James Bond V (Pierce Brosnan)
James Bond VI (Daniel Craig)

That's my 2 cents

You just have to suspend your disbelief and accept that it's a incarnation of the same guy, suited for the period of when the film is released. 1989's Licence to Kill referenced events from 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service, so...for what little sense it might make, Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan were playing the same man.

I dislike it when people claim that "James Bond" is just a code-name handed down over the years or something.

Casino Royale is excluded, obviously, which felt the freedom to chuck 40 years of Bond history to make their little Bourne knock-off work...:shakefist

Wow, a joke from R5 spawned a thread! XD

The whole thing happened when my Dad was watching a marathon on Spike and then he suddenly came into my room while I was working on some stuff:

DAD: Michael, I just had an epihany!
ME: Oh?
DAD: James Bond is a time lord!
ME: .....That actually makes sense.

Now all we need is for him to suddenly regenerate mid-movie into David Tennant.

"New teeth. That's weird. Now where was I?... Oh that's right! ...Bond. James Bond."

That whole "James Bond 007 is a codename" thing was already done and parodied in the 1967 spoof also entitled "Casino Royale".

Book universe = movie universe? of course not. Note the same phenomenon in movie adaptations of comic books.

Casino Royale is a reboot. Don't forget that.

I've watched the Original Casino Royale along time ago. For some reason I always thought it was the first James Bond movie ever, done in 1960. Then I was shocked to find out that it was done in 67. Anyways its crazy, I remember seeing flying saucers and weird stuff.
