J-Horror Movie Recomendations

Forever Knight

Eye See You
I'm hitting up Downtown Toronto later today or tomorrow and there is this Chinese store that sells J-Horror movie bootlegs with subs. I saw all 4 Grudge movies which I'm grabbing.

Can anyone recommend me some really freaky J-Horror flicks and Zombie flicks?.

Junk is a great J-Nombie movie. Also, Bio-Zombie is pretty good. Aside from that, Kairo. Three...Extremes. Um. Dunno what else.

I just saw Ju-On last night and it was pretty cool to see Go Pink (Shibata Kayoko/Sakaguchi Monika) on that flick as well. Too bad she didn't have the chance to CHAKUSOU.:buttrock:

Bio-Zombie is actually a Hong Kong film, and it's waaaaay better than "pretty good"!!! It's much better than Junk, which is good, but kinda cheap and boring in parts.

I'd personally recommend NOT getting the Grudge films except for the first. I would however try to get Audition, Versus, Tomie - Replay, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, or Cure. I especially think you'd like Tetsuo, it's a bizarre, black and white Shinya Tsukamoto film filled with all kinds of great, ghastly imagery and mindfuck cinematography and writing. It's like the Japanese Eraserhead. I highly recommend it.

Audition is a good one :buttrock: Versus is good but the story sucks...

Yeah, but it's an action movie, and if you're looking to see Yakuza zombies get slaughtered for 2 hours it's perfect!

If ya like samurai horror try out the 1980s and 1990s versions of Makai Tensho: Samurai Reincarnation and Kinji Fukusaku's Satomi Hakkenden. Sonny Chiba plays Jubei Yagyu in the 80s Makai Tensho and a warrior priest in Satomi Hakkenden. The 90s Makai Tensho has Hiroshi Miyauchi as Miyamoto Musashi and Hiroyuki Watanabe as Jubei.

ORE Journal Boss was in it aswell and the Head Cheif Police Officer from Kuuga.

Part 2 had GaoYellow, and Kaoru Ichijou from Kuuga aswell.

I love seeing Former Tokusatsu actors in movies. Seeing Kuuga in SHINOBI was awesome too.

I've picked up Battle Royale 1 and 2 aswell and I heard a shitload of Sentai actors are in it. So I am looking forward to seeing that.
