Is jetman such a dark sentai series? a Kakuranger comparison

[redwhitesentai]

jetman is dark but has some comedy/funny moments. earlier they have the red ranger arranged married theme which is funny episode i think.

Well, to be quite franked, that seems to be an interesting analysis on comparing both Jetman and Kakuranger. But, there were some examples that weren't the same. The Kakurangers' usage of the Batman Comic book sound effects that pop up every time they fight the footsoldiers, The Kakurangers fought an Evil Sentai, where as in Jetman, Tran aged rapidly into his adult form. And I think that's it.

Yeah, but Jetman fought a cup of ramen noodles. A CUP OF RAMEN NOODLES!! Oh, and a sink.

DaiRanger can be just as dark as Jetman and KakuRanger though. You have Ryu's dad who betrayed the previous heroes and then had to sacrifice himself so the rangers could form Dairen-O. Then you have the entire subplot with Gara, Kajaku, and Daigo. Not to mention Jin's backstory and then him killing his girlfriend to join Gorma. The fate of Doushi Kaku and Kou's mother. Sure, Dai had the San Bakas and Daimugen, but the more serious themes definitely outweigh the comedic stuff.

I see your point there.

Yet even Changeman had an episode where the villains tried to destroy the human race by having toy monkeys drive cars.

Changeman is awesome, and yet it had lots of absurdities and goofyness. Cats turning into people, world of candy, monster beaten by bad singing, etc. I think people often overplay the "darkness" factor when it comes to older series..
