Is GARO really good?

It's not exactly groundbreaking, but it is brilliantly fun. The fight scenes are pretty impressive and the monster style is quite creative and interesting.

"OVA" really isn't an accurate description of Beast of the White Night, which was a TV Special not an original video release. Though if it had been direct to video, I'd probably end up using the term OVA despite not being animated...however considering the great amount of CG in the special, particularly almost all the Garo fights, you could say it is an animation.

Anyway, I agree with the people who say Garo is overrated, but still good and overall fun to watch. It's main draw is pretty much just the visuals and fight scenes.

Hehe, I'm starting to love GARO when I saw it on Youtube, then I watched in on crunchyroll and I'm in episode 13 right now.

And oh, it has the best fight scenes ever in a toku show. And oh, Makoto Yokohama KICKS ASS! He had done well in Power Rangers as an action director (along w/ Koichi Sakamoto) and then, he has done it again in GARO! Kudos to Keita Amemiya for his awesome creation (he's also the director of Kamen Rider ZO).

And IMO, it doesn't only have awesome fight scenes, it has awesome special effects and it has a good story. And it became a milestone for toku itself because its the only tokusatsu series that has a darker theme and for mature audiences. I agree that Shin Kamen Rider is the first when it comes to that category, but it's a movie and not a series.

Maybe that's why some people favored GARO than the Devil May Cry anime if ya ask me. And if it will be adapted to American audiences, we will expect it an American GARO with a "Devil May Cry" feel. Hehe, I want to see Reuben Langdon as a Makai Knight.:)

And I love its soundtrack. One of the best ever, especially "Savior in the Dark."

It was a "dark" show, but I dunno if it was really a milestone. There were other shows that were for mature audiences, like Nexus before it.

I love that song. JAM Project is win. :)

Your point being?

:P
XD

Didn't know people here were into that kinda thing.

Its a really good Toku, even though most episodes have nothing to do with the characters, they learn something in the end. Though its rather short, I recommend it.
