Is GARO really good?

Hey everybody! While I'm waiting for the next episodes of Gekiranger to be subbed, I was thinking of watching another tokusatsu, like GARO.

Is the show really good as most people say it is? What was it like watching it? I'm pretty new to watching tokusatsu shows from Japan and the only shows I'm currently watching so far is Gekiranger and a bit of Den-O. This time I want to watch something that is different and a more darker show than Super Sentai and KR.

Is there any other available series that you would recommend? Doesn't have to be dark like GARO, as long as its good he he.

GARO is wicked awesome amazing.

Also, check out some Ultraman! Unlike most people who will recommend Nexus to you, I'm gonna say: Go check out MAX! It is my personal favorite. Also, check out the movie ULTRAMAN THE NEXT (2004). One of the coolest movies ever, IMO.

Also, if you want some great old school stuff, go pick up the awesome IRON KING set from BCI! :buttrock:

I would call it maybe the "One of the best toku ever" if you haven't seen it you should and sit back and enjoy.

It's not as good as people say it is. It's not bad, but I don't think it deserves all the "OmGz! Garo is da bestisis in da hol wide wurld!" that gets thrown around all the time. Yeah, it's a very dark tokusatsu, but that kind of gets worn out after a while and sometimes it feels like it's just relying on the fact that it's aimed at an older crowd to get by. It is fairly good once the plot hits, but even then there are times when it gets kind of stale. Kouga and Kouru are pretty fun to watch, but I couldn't stand Rei most of the time. Tsubuasa in the specials was an awesome character though. Now I would love to see a series with him as the lead.

As for other tokusatsu series, the number one series I can recommend is Kamen Rider Hibiki, without a doubt my favorite show out there. And Kamen Rider Agito as well, another masterpiece in tokusatsu. Beyond that I would say anything from Ultraman Nexus to Mebius, those are easily some of the best Ultra shows out there. Also, check out Ryukendo, it's a comedy heavy series, but it was a blast to watch and great in its serious moments.

If you're looking for something a little bit older, Jetman, Changeman, Kamen Rider X and Ultraman Leo are great too.

Yeah Ryukendo is great I'm on episode 22 now and I'm loving it.

GARO is really good the fight scenes are just incredible and i like its story. As for another toku thats a bit dark i would recommend Kamen Rider 555 if you havent seen it. Another real good one is Kamen Rider Agito.

Of course it's good. Probably better than good. See for yourself. :thumbs:

GARO is an awesome show. u should definitely watch it. be prepared to be freaked out in a few eps and then be ready to love all the awesomeness that comes when Rei comes onto the show. in the middle of the series we finally get to see what Kodama can do too.:buttrock:

Ougon Kishi GARO is a VERY COOL series! It's about as serious and dark as you can get in toku, seeing as how an adult-oriented series of this nature is pretty rare.

I also recommend you watch Ultraman Nexus, Ryukendo, Kamen Rider Agito, and Kamen Rider Black; I could list others, but I think these are solid shows that most people can enjoy. :thumbs:
