Is GARO really good?

If you havent seen Garo and are looking for a new Toku to watch; Uh, yeah. Fucking watch it man. Garo was great. I had some problems with the writing. But that's just ol GrnPsycho bitching about things as usual. It was a dark and great toku. Lots of good action and a decent story.

Oh, GARO's good. I don't think most people who've seen it will argue with that. It's darker, but freakishly enjoyable. I loved everything about it.

And, you can't go wrong with most of the recommendations made in this thread.

I actually might try and find the episodes somewhere. However, is it still running or did it end. I can remember something about it being licensed and TV-Nihon then dropping it. If the series is finished I'll watch, I just dont want to start it to find theres another series and it wont get subbed.

It finished airing in 2006. :P

TV-N has been done with it... Go watch!

GARO is my all time favorite. No Toku has been able to stack up against it since.

Production value, story, story pacing, complete story, action quality..... even Kabuto and GekiRanger come up short against the might that was, GARO.

Garo is not good.

Garo is awesome in so many levels.

Awesome Sountrack, too. The finally, unlike the disapointing Ultraseven X finally, is one of the most action/emotional-packed episodes I've ever seen. Ofcourse, it won't mean much if you didn't see all the episodes before it.

I never had a High School class graduation ring, so this will do. The true ONE ring.

Well it's good, but I also think it's over-hyped just because it has vaguely darker themes. I basically enjoyed the first few episodes and the last few episodes, and felt that everything in between dragged a bit. The movie is amazing though, and managed to inject a lot more plot and personality than the show did. If your definition of "mature" toku means "blood and boobs" then yeah, you'll be happy with Garo, but if by "mature" you mean "better story telling and more depth from the characters" you're actually better off with almost any Sentai series.

My big problem was I'd already seen KR555 when I watched Garo, so I'd already been spoiled.

One thing I could say, Garo had the BEST    action choreography in a toku series. Haven't seen one that can topple it. From actual bone breaking stunts of the stunt actors to the real action performed by the real actors... Simply the best. Go watch. & I FUCKING loved the nudity! :evil3: :evil3: :evil3:
