Do you not know how capitalism works? NOBODY can afford their own startup costs. That's what the "capital" in "capitalism" means. Investors are where companies get money. They make a pitch that says "If you give me money I will use it to make more money and you will gain profits."

Why do you need a company just to dub a series? There is free software that allows you to do all of this. The only expenses you should ever worry about are decent microphones. My friends and I have dubbed multiple games.(some we even created ourselves) The only reason I even clicked on this thread was because I thought you were simply looking for people to help dub.

I'm terribly sorry for this misunderstanding. I should have made it clear that this was just to cover the expenses of starting a start-up, Obviously, our $37,000 goal isn’t going to buy the roughly $25,000-$1,000,000 licences. The real money will come from Angel Investors, and later, actual Venture Capitalists. Then we can start buying properties of real worth. Until then, we will have to stick to buying cheap properties, raising revenue by selling those and items such as T-shirts and coffee mugs, and thrifty and wise spending.

So you're saying that you want this money to ask for more money? :eyebrow:

Yeah uh, you'd have better luck writing letters to existing dub companies or something. There's (probably) also the issues of actor royalties, and so on to deal with.

Because a dubbing COMPANY would then SELL the material. Material which will finally be considered officially licensed and could be sold in stores like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target etc. etc. etc. just like dubbed animes already bare the privilege of doing right now.


A better business proposition would be not to start a dubbing company, but either a dubbing studio OR a licensing firm. Those two things work together to dub and release a show in a country other than its place of origin. Trying to be both at once (and for your startup even...) is setting yourself up for failure.

Glamador agrees with what has been said above. It would be more prudent to join an existing company, gather a network of contacts, and maybe get a really good deal on the licensing for your first project. Saban was an itty-bitty operation when it started but it got a hit series out of it. Gotta know when and where to jump in.
