I'm gonna have to give SPD another chance!!

Y'know what? Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder may've been the biggest stinking pieces of crap in Power Rangers history (apart from Jason David Frank's appearance), but sometimes I think.. maybe I've been a little too negative on SPD.

Yeah, it's not better than DekaRanger, as we all know, but that's just the way it is with American versions of Japanese shows, they're never better than their Japanese originals. Some of them are total shite (EG: NinjaStorm, 4Kids OnePiece, 4Kids Ultraman Tiga, Saban's Masked Rider, Beetleborgs) some aren't too bad / very good but still no substitute for their originals (EG: MMPR, Syber Squad, VR Troopers..). Plus I've not really seen enought of DekaRanger. Just a few episodes and loads of video clips.

If I can remember correctly, I actually liked it when I saw the first episode. It had pretty good fight scenes.. One thing I didn't like though is SPD had the lamest dullest villians ever. Emperor Grumm was just.. ..Empty. Mora had that annoying British Accent..

So anyway, I'm gonna try n give SPD another chance. But I'm gonna do it later though, because 1: I've still got the rest of Choushinsei Flashman to finish (awesome series), 2: Japanese Class toninght (YATTAAAAA!!!).

Hmm.. maybe the big hype about Bruce Kalish directing the show instead of Doug Sloan could mean something.

2. Nah, aseriously, give Sliders a try once and a while, especially the first two seasons, then came David Peckinpah (Sliders' version of Bruce Kalish) and he flat out killed it for the most part

Like I urge everyone to do... just leave 'em as different shows. For the most part I liked Dekaranger better, but that's got **** and nothing to do with my enjoyment of SPD.

Just leave 'em seperate, otherwise is just leads to either useless battling that ends up going nowhere 100% of the time or prejudice snootyness that keeps you from seeing good that may be there.

I agree with your sentiment Keith, but with SPD and Deka it's quite hard to do that because SPD lifts so many aspects. I mean, you won't really see me comparing Abaranger and DT (apart from Abarekiller/White Ranger) because they both did completely different things.

SPD however is basically DekaRanger - most of the character development + an oft-ignored season long plotline. It invites any comparisons made.
