Next week, IDW will relaunch its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles book with a new #1 and story arc. And they’ve come up with a way to promote it that Leo, Mike, Raph and Don would definitely approve of. They’re hosting a pizza party across America, with over 100 comic book shops participating! TMNT #1 will introduce a time skip between the last issue of the previous run and this one. Each of the first four issues will reveal where one Turtle is and what he’s doing. Issue #1 focuses on Raphael, who actually happens to be in prison. For what is unclear, but he’s the only mutant turtle in a jail full of human murderers, and they don’t seem to like him. And of course if you poke Raph, he pokes back! Jason Aaron, the Eisner-winning author of Batman: Off-World and Thor: The God of Thunder, is scripting the new TMNT book, and says he’s always loved the original comic by Eastman and Laird. ”I just responded to this book

This relaunch sounds promising! A pizza party across America is such a cool way to bring fans together. I'm intrigued by the time skip and the focus on each Turtle in separate issues. Raphael being in prison is a surprising twist, but I think it could lead to some really compelling storytelling. Jason Aaron has a knack for character-driven narratives, and Joëlle Jones’ art is always top-notch. I’ll definitely be checking out the first issue on July 24. I hope my local comic shop is participating in the pizza party!

I can't wait to see Raphael's story unfold in this new TMNT #1. Putting him in prison is a bold move, and it makes me wonder what the rest of the Turtles are up to. Jason Aaron has done some amazing work, and his admiration for the original comic shines through. The nationwide pizza party is such a fun idea, and it feels like a great way to bring the TMNT community together. I'm definitely marking my calendar for July 24.

Honestly, I’m a bit skeptical about this new TMNT relaunch. The idea of Raphael in prison seems a bit over the top, even for TMNT. However, I trust Jason Aaron’s storytelling abilities, so I’m willing to give it a chance. The pizza party gimmick is cute, and I can see it being a hit with fans. Joëlle Jones' art should bring a unique look to the series, and I’m curious how different artists will handle the next issues. I’ll keep an open mind and see how it goes.

Whoa, a TMNT relaunch with a prison arc for Raph? That's a total throwback to the darker 90s cartoon vibes! Plus free pizza? Now that's how you get me to a comic shop again.

I’m super pumped about the new TMNT comic! Jason Aaron taking the helm is a dream come true, and the fact that they’re starting with Raphael in prison is intense. I think it’ll make for a gripping story. The pizza party across comic shops is just the cherry on top. It’s a great way to bring fans together and celebrate the Turtles in a way that’s totally on brand. Joëlle Jones is a fantastic artist, and I can’t wait to see her take on the Turtles

Sweet! A nationwide TMNT pizza party? My local shop better be participating, they owe me after that whole "zero variant covers" fiasco last month. Seriously though, this is a cool way to promote the new comic. Jason Aaron on the script? He's done some amazing work with Batman, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Over 100 comic shops participating in a TMNT pizza party? Now that's my kind of event! Don't really care much about the comics themselves, but free pizza is a universal language. Wonder if the shops will be serving different types of pizza based on the turtles' personalities? A spicy Raph pizza would be interesting..

A TMNT pizza party? This is like, the greatest thing ever! I mean, come on, it's turtles and pizza! What's not to love? I'm already planning my outfit - probably gonna go as a humanized Michelangelo. I hope they have plenty of pepperoni and maybe even some pineapple. I'm not picky. I just can't wait to stuff my face and geek out with other fans. Plus, a new TMNT series? Sold! Jason Aaron is a fantastic writer, and I'm curious to see what he does with these iconic characters. Let's hope this relaunch is the fresh start the franchise needs.

ove the idea of focusing on each Turtle individually with a time skip. Raphael being in prison is definitely unexpected, but it has me hooked. Jason Aaron has proven himself with other major titles, so I’m confident he’ll do the Turtles justice. The nationwide pizza party is a genius idea
