The physical resemblance is a bit off, especially with Alana and Sugar Bear. However, despite not looking the part, the acting is surprisingly good. The performances, especially from Mama June and Pumpkin, really stand out. They capture the personalities of the real people so well, especially the way Mama June’s voice and mannerisms come across. It’s not easy to bring such complex characters to life, but these actors do a solid job of making the audience feel like they’re watching the real people. Even if they don’t look exactly like them, the acting itself makes up for it in the end.

Honey Boo Boo's has been full of ups and downs, and I think I Was Honey Boo Boo will give people a new perspective on what it was really like for her. As a young child, she was thrust into a world of fame without anyone really looking out for her. It’s no surprise that her mother, Mama June, wasn’t the best role model, considering everything she went through. I do think Alana has shown a lot of maturity by pursuing nursing and stepping away from reality TV. It’s good to see that despite everything, she’s choosing to take control of her life and work toward a more stable future.

I think it is so important that Alana is finally getting to tell her story in her own words. Watching her grow up on TV, many people forgot she was just a child. It sounds like she faced a lot of betrayal from people who should have protected her. I am glad Lifetime decided to let Alana narrate the movie herself because nobody else could explain what it really felt like. It is heartbreaking that her own mother misused her money, but it is inspiring to see Alana still trying to build a future for herself. I will definitely watch this movie because it feels necessary to understand what really happened behind the scenes.

Honestly, I think the show should have never happened in the first place. Children should not be pushed into fame like that. It is not entertaining to see kids exploited for adult audiences. Reading about how Alana’s money was wasted by her own mother just makes it worse. I hope people will think twice before watching reality TV with children. It sounds like Alana is doing her best to move on, which is good. I just wish none of it had happened to her at all.
