I just finished DCD..Sigh

Eh... I've decided to reply right now. I thought to leave it to later to make a more complete post, but, eh... I guess it just isn't worth it.

Here are a few elements introduced by the original writer that were still fulfilled...

- Worlds are stories (Episode 1)

- Worlds are fusing because the stories have been connected (Episode 1) -> Narutaki's various warnings about Tsukasa destroying the worlds that he visited -> Someone built bridges connecting the worlds (Episodes 26/27) -> Tsukasa built the bridges (All Riders) -> It's Decade's fault that the worlds are fusing/ending (Episode 31)

- Decade is the one who will kill the Kamen Riders (Episode 1), because creation can only come from destruction -> Decade should have killed the Kamen Riders, because creation can only come from destruction (Episode 31) -> Decade needed to fight against the Riders because their stories can only be known and remembered through battles, and if they're remembered they won't die (Movie Wars 2010)

This subject actually raised some theories during the series about Wataru & co being evil and just lying to kill the AU Riders and Decade (or just Decade), but that never made any sense. If a twist like that were introduced, it'd open the big question of why didn't they just let him die in the beginning.

I'm not saying that a writer couldn't take it in a different direction, but the direction the series took the concept was clearly what was intended from the start.

A Ryuuki different from the AR Rider version appears in Natsumi's world and Wataru mentions companions (episode 1) -> His companions were the other Heisei Riders (episode 31)

- Monsters from different worlds fighting against each other right before the final destruction of a world (Episode 1) -> Worlds fighting against each other after the fusion had progressed a lot (Episode 30)

Now, the twist that it was just manipulation from Apologeist probably wasn't originally intended, but the concept wasn't just ignored either.

- Tsukasa spoke Grongi and feared that he had been something like those monsters (episode 2) -> Tsukasa led an organization filled with monsters, including Grongi (All Riders)

- Diend and Decade are supposed to be enemies (Faiz World)-> Daiki stole the Diend Driver from Decade's Dai-Shocker (All Riders)

- The Hoppers jumped to a world with Taiga and Delta at once -> Taiga was just fine in the Ryuuki World, without Hoppers or Delta around -> There are more than the 9 worlds

As opposed to the stuff that was just dropped...

- In the Ryuuki world, Narutaki says that it's the first time he and Natsumi are meeting in that "era", implying that they might have met under some other circumstances.

Do you like have that stuff in a text file ready to copy and paste it in just such an emergency?:anime:

I don't honestly care about theories. They are just fans playing guessing games. While they are ok, they have nothing to do with how the show really played out. Anything they did with narutaki was made void by how crappy the show progressed and by how they screwed the character over in the movies.

They kept hinting that diend knew dcd, but they never EVER explained how and why. They can have people say things to each other like you said in the Ryuki world, but it doesn't really matter as this show never follows up with anything.

My original statements stand. And I still agree with a lot of what people have said about DCD. If you liked it great. I just don't buy any of your reasons in support of the show.

I just want to express my impressions of the show over all, and now that I have. I will wash the nasty taste out of my mouth that is DCD by watching Timeranger again.

Those aren't theories. I was just listing related events from different episodes in sequence. Only the parts without bolds or italics are my own observations. Like I said, I planned to make a longer post, but realized that, no matter what I posted or said, your opinion and observations wouldn't move one bit. So, it'd be just a waste of my time.

We don't know how he learned about them, but Diend knew about Dai-Shocker, stole the Diend Driver from them (All Riders) and was shown controlling a dimensional wall in the beginning of Shinkenger World, so that's how he knew about Tsukasa and traveled around the worlds.

Sometimes it feels like that it's a no win situation with Decade. Even if you try to explain how it really is, no one's budging. Becasue some people are still bitter over how it was handled as well as alot of other things. Even if we're moved on to OOO, they can't seem to get passed it.

The same thing could happen to Gokaigers if it doesn't turn out the way people wanted it to.

Decade was a televised stage-show. A 31 episode commercial made to market the Ganbride cards. As I have said before, it felt like Toei would have preferred if Decade was just an empty suit, but they knew they had to throw SOME sort of characters in there, so we ended up getting a group of characters that the writing staff didn't really care about. Everything was rushed forward to the “Rider battle of the dayâ€.

The original rumours said that Toei wanted to do an actual HEISEI anniversary movie, where all the old actors from Kuuga and onwards would appear instead of their AU counterparts.
I remember being told that it was because of problems with this project, that we ended up getting the Showa stuff thrown in. I don't know whether this was true or not.

Originally they're were suppose to bring back the original actors for the movie, but it just fell through. Since some of them didn't want to come back or were busy with other projects at that time. So they went with bringing back the Showa Riders, even if it was last minute.

As far as I've heard, All Riders was going to be the original ending (though this changed by the time the movie was actually filmed and released. Elements of an earlier version of the script survive in the comic adaptation though.) The Showa Riders were always going to appear, though likely only in the movie rather than the series as well.

You mean Kamen Rider Spirits or another manga?

The comic version of All Riders from Telemanga Heroes.

The comic adaptations of the movies tend to follow earlier versions of the script and have stuff that was changed or cut. Sometimes bits end up in DC's. I know the Hibiki movie one has Kabuki getting eaten by Orochi, rather than how the the DC had him go out (which is similar) or the theatrical cut (which is totally different.) The adaptations do tend to get right to the action quicker, so I can't say the movie would have gone exactly like this. But there's elements in it that might have happened at one point (and given All Riders' chronological confusion, I can believe it.) Among some of the differences from the movie:

[HIDE]-The beginning is Natsumi's dream/vision where Decade and Ultimate Form Kuuga fight and destroy everything, rather than Decade vs. Amazon.

-Skyrider fights Blade Jack Form instead of IXA (no clear winner for any of the Rider battles though the final round is the same.)

-Kuuga gets beaten by BLACK and Super-1 double punching him.

-Tsukasa is not explicitly stated to be the leader of Daishocker, but rather just their tool (the actual Great Leader is unheard/unseen, though it seems to be Shadow Moon) He agrees to the Rider battle to save the worlds, but after defeated V3, Supes and BLACK expresses sadness than he "erased the Riders and can't meet them any more."

-According to Tsukikage, the "Destroyer" aspect of Decade is that he was created to destroy the Riders. The "Destroyer of Worlds" stuff is a misinterpretation and Decade's only purpose of traveling the worlds was to create bridges. He only would have "destroyed" them by fighting and killing the Riders, thus allowing Daishocker to take over.

-Tsukasa doesn't go through his whole "evil" phase like in the finished movie, but is immediately attacked by Shadow Moon and Daishocker after the big tournament. Daishocker chains up Tsukasa and prepare to execute him since they no longer have use for him.

-Rider 1 & 2 appear and save Tsukasa.

-Yuuki shows up and turns into Riderman. His face is obscured but the implication is it's the Gackt version, but he becomes classic Riderman. The other Riders show up with him.

-Momotaros and Daiki show up disguised as Shocker henchmen.

-Tsukasa actually rejects his own catchphrase:

Daiki: What will you do now? Passing-through Kamen Rider-kun?

Tsukasa: No. I'm no longer passing through... I will destroy all evil, and save all worlds!

-It's after this that Daishocker Castle Rises up and Bishum appears with Shadow Moon.

-The Eijiro-is-Shinigami thing is played for real. Natsumi is more visibly upset and he doesn't come back at the end after being destroyed.

-Bishum zaps Yuusuke into Rising Ultimate and he fights Decade. The other Riders stand back and BLACK says Decade needs to fight this one alone. Tsukasa wins by not fighting; he detransforms and tries to reason with Bishum/his sister (via Kuuga.) This gets through to Sayo like in the movie. Shadow Moon prepares to kill her but BLACK RX intervenes (!) and it's he that smashes the stone necklace. Shadow Moon knows who RX is.

-Kuuga returns to good and helps Tsukasa up, Tsukasa transforms and then comes the big fight. This is where I think the comic is taking artistic liberty more than following from the script, because it's pretty high-budget. There are a lot more old monsters and a lot of tag team stuff (for one panel, but hey, comics.) Stronger and Blade electrocute everyone, Kabuto and Faiz do their super speed things, Kiva and Amazon slash up guys, etc.

-Shadow Moon is beaten by Decade and Kuuga. No Double at all.

-King Dark appears and is beaten similar to the movie. Shinigami and Hell never transform to their monster selves, which kinda blows, but hey.

-At the end Tsukasa wonders if he has found his place as a Rider and Sayo tells him to "go find the answer". The main characters apparently leave with the other Riders.

No sign of Narutaki or FanWanktaru (aside from Kiva.) It feels like they would have already been covered; it's made pretty obvious that the worlds are only in danger from Decade if he destroys the Riders rather than befriending them.

That... that is just perfect in every way. God knows why they didn't use this plot for the actual movie.
The whole "Tsukasa becomes evil" thing is basically what ruined both All Riders and Movie Wars for me.
It just felt out of place. Perhaps it WOULD have been better if Decade had just been a pure evil Rider from the start, and then we could have another Rider as the hero of the show.

I also hated how Tsukasa had to go through the same emo-stuff again and again.
Every episode, he seemed to "learn something important", only to forget it in the next. His character never moved on. All the heroic speeches just seemed to repeat themselves.

IMO, they should have taken a completely different route with the story. Instead of the AU universes, they should have let Tsukasa travel to the real Rider worlds. But instead of having him team up with the previous Riders, his job would be to take their roles.
So that in the Kuuga world, he had to take Godai's place etc.
