How would you have adapted Shinkenger?

Since the rumors about Power Rangers ending after RPM seem to be true, I thought I would make this thread and ask all you Shinkenger fans how you would've adapted this series into Power Rangers.

I think I would have went for an apporach similar to how Ninja Storm had the Rangers already training to be ninjas, I'd have them training to be samurai. This would also make the kanji stuff easier to work with since it could always be part of their training or something. I think that would work out.

I really don't see why Shinkenger couldn't have been adapted as normal. Do a "Last Samurai" vibe where an old Asian character actor tells a team of ethnically diverse American teens that they are inheritors of ancient real samurai spirit!! who need to use their powers to defeat General Wrath and his Fang-Face Brigade.

So the character actor explains crap like "draw the ancient samurai symbol for fire, Anthony, and its power will burn your enemies!" and then you've explained everything about the show that needs explaining. Call the Origami "Samurai Battle Beasts" or something else that would sound rad to ten-year-olds, call it day, and go hit the bars.

Shinkenger could've been adapted easily. It wasn't because for whatever reason, Bandai and Disney didn't care to put forth the effort.

adapt shinkenger? well my idea is this: shinkens blue, green, pink and yellow just graduated from training are they are now ready to fight the villains. as the villains are attacking, they cannot wait for the fifth member as they leave using 2 ranger cycles (the design is based on ducati) with one sidecar for each.

in the midst of battle, the 4 learned to use their skills and powers. the villains fall back and declared a war against earth (their target: washington DC, the city where the story is set) while the rangers and their mentor are planning another strategy, while waiting for the fifth ranger to join the battle.

meanwhile, an unknown dude is walking toward a city (washington DC) carrying a really big sword with 4 big bags hanging onto it while telling himself that he finally finds civilization, he morphs into shinkenred, excited that his master-level skills will be finally put to the test. "I'm gonna love this." he said. end of episode 1

I would have it based on the dojo and I would also keep the Shiba name. The Red Ranger could be the Sensei's ward and they had to flee Japan when Red was a kid, right after his father's death and or capture.

The other Power Rangers could be students of said dojo, friends from high school, or even enemies from high school.

The 6th Ranger could have ran away from Japan to follow the Red Ranger so he can help him defeat the enemy or could be the the Red Rangers younger brother.

meanwhile, an unknown dude is walking toward a city (washington DC)

Why? Is he going to knock down the White House?

I think if they adapted Hurricaneger and Gekiranger, they could have got away with Shinkenger. Lynxara's suggestion for handling the kanji seems like the best idea. Throw in a creaky old mentor a la Karate Kid and we would have been good to go.

Red is a japanese-american, having to yank four of his ("suposidly" random but you know how it would end up) friends from school into the fight when his background catches up with him. I had actualy thought is up before Genta came in; Gold i guess could be another friend who finds them out and wants to help, and is given his morpher behind the other's backs by whomever would have the "Jii" role (never worked that out ether).
