How did you feel about Narutaki?

I don't believe we've had a real thread on this guy or at least not for a while so why not?

Narutaki is a really interesting guy to me. Not show-wise because let's face it, they didn't do a ton with him (surprise! I'm Zol now!). I mean he's interesting because he's just...there. He's like this force that just never stopped showing up during Decade. I was wondering "who is this guy? Why is he here? Why does he hate Decade so much?"

I do not really care about the guy too much but if there's anything he did, he gave us a meme that would be somewhat memorable about him.

Why was he there? Is he like Dikeido? Does he have no story?

See that's what makes him fascinating to me. I have no idea how this guy could have come to be. It's like Toei had a meeting and then said "Wait...let's throw in this old man who screams at Decade every week!"
"But where did he come from?"
"That's the twist! He's actually Zol!"
"You're a genius, Tarou!"

Well today society is full of creepy douche-bag stalker freaks, so they just put Narutaki in there to fill that roll. No real significance or story behind it.

They should've left out the "Surprise-Zol!" bit, then Narutaki would have been more solidified in toku meme as the weekly antagonist who has no story, a villain ex machina opposite to Decade's deus ex machina.

I'm pretty sure he isn't supposed to be Zol. When he was hit, he reverted back to normal Narutaki, after all. It was just some kind of disguise.

Anyway, I'm not really sure about him. I think Diend's introduction showed pretty clearly that he wasn't some kind of big threat by himself, even under the original script writer, so his point was... well, just to be some kind of constant antagonist throughout the worlds, but not the final one.

That said... his lack of backstory always left me just confused. We're not talking about someone with tons of tie ins that would be hard to explain. Would it have been hard to say that he was someone who hated Tsukasa due to his pre-amnesia days, but ended up losing himself in his hate? That seems to be what they were going for (When he goes on about how he had warned them previously in All Riders), but they never actually got around to revealing it anywhere, even in extra series material.

With his apparent survival in Movie Wars, I thought they might have left that for a later movie, but, at this point, even if there's a new All Riders movie, I highly doubt it'll even attempt to deal with any leftover plot threads from Decade.

The fact that no one knows why he was there or how he was following them is what makes him so fun.

You've seen WTF moments in Toku on youtube correct? Well he's the physical embodiment of that.
