LOL Kabuki was started by a woman. In Kyoto... during the Heian period, but I forgot what happened but women was eventually banned from the art. But Kabuki was original a woman's stage play...

Ah, women were banned from Kabuki because men began to watch Kabuki not for the art but for the "women". Young men replaced the women but they became prositutes so they banned young men from Kabuki and only older men performed....

Nonono, I was reading it on wiki and it said that women performing seemed to entice the men and the younger men that were used to replace the women were actually becoming prostitutes. XD It was like a major moral issue with the stuck ups in Japan or something XD
