HJU's Guitar Players

First off i want to say that i dont know if there is already a thread for this so please forgive me.

So ive been taken lessons for two weeks now and i like it a lot. Now im pretty sure HJU got some guitar players. I thought it would be great to talk about it and maybe give some tips to eachother especialy for me who is an beginner.

The story behind.:
So like a month ago i started a new major in college, i met new class mates who were a drummer and a guitarist. They are not from an band but they knew how to play their instrument respectivly.

The drummer class mate gave me a advertisement of a local music school, they were having a open-day??? I dunno the correct word in english for that but it was a day where they showcase the lessons you could take within that school.
He wanted to take lessons after he stopped for a year and since i talked about it that i was interested for a long time he pointed out the advertisement to me.

So yeah when i went i was sold imediatley and thats how i started to learn guitar.

My mom and dad played guitar... My dad was in a band when he was still single... So, in effect, I also learned how to play... It's fun, though you always need to at least play every now and then to stretch your fingers... It's been a long while since I played... I really miss it...

Totally gonna bump this sumbitch.

I don't play guitar, I play bass but I figure it also fits in this thread. I actually started out on guitar way back when, so I have a bit of ability to play a 6 string, but I never actually got all that good. I've been playing bass for 7? years now. Lately I've just been doing lots of finger exercises to try and maybe build up the muscles so I can play longer without starting to cramp up. I've been trying to compose a little, but it's hard to write stuff with -just- a bass because I'm not good enough to be playing semi-lead all the time, so yeah. Been jamming with a friend who lives pretty close to me. He plays drums and guitar, so that's pretty fun.
