Hikari Sentai Maskman

In the credits, it's just supposed to be some "hi-tech" looking version of that kids game "cat's cradle." I think the only reason it found its way into an episode is that people saw the credits and was wondering, "What the hell does that string have to do with anything?"

It makes its way into a few more episodes after the underground slave ep, too. It's usually always Akira who uses it (in one episode where he enters a fighting tournament rigged by Tube, he tosses it around his opponent to tie them up, after in which it turns into chains).

I don't think the "lazer cat's cradle" was given an official name in Maskman, as it wasn't that important. So I'll just call it "Aura Cat's Cradle."

Thanks cause my stepbrother was wondering and anyways whats cat's cradle? I think I may ahve even played this back in the 90's just with string.

Slave ep # - 14
Blue Mask at a fighting tournament ep # - 25

BTW, awesome avatar, Basri! That's one of my favorite episodes.

Alright! I've finally got to that episode when Kiros died. All the while its about him and Takeru, which was pretty cool. Now I understand why you said its kinda cruel on the writer's part to kill Kiros off just like that.

The amount of damage Takeru took before using that massive Aura Power to block the villains' attacks was simply great!

And I've just been thinking, how Mio could have survived all these while in that block of ice? Is there room for oxygen or something? And this kinda remind me of Mr Freeze's wife in Batman! Hahaha!

I think they adapted the Cryotechnology thingy. Austin Powers did it too, well until someone drilled his *toot* to get his MowJow

She was just in a sort of suspended animation...that was always very fairy-tale-esque to me, so it didn't have to make total sense.

But, yeah...poor Kiros. I still don't see the point of the icicle having to fall on him! The sword was enough. What I liked about that scene was how Igam was ready to destroy the Mio-cube, so both Takeru and Kiros jump in front to shield her. Interesting to see opponents sort of working together for a minute.

Yes, watch that scene again and remember...Mio leaves Takeru!

Okerampa -- What da hell happened to the creature by the end of the series?
I mean, Gyodai was rescued by the Changeman before that place got blown up. Kraagen became part of the last Deus-like monster destroyed by Great Titan.

Is it still alive? Does it appear in Magiranger?

I always assumed that he went down along with Oyobu and Fuumin in that giant explosion. Oh, well, let's have a Maskman reunion, "The Revenge of Okeranpa!" Okeranpa's first attack -- making Ryuji Sainei giant, so his shrieks can be heard all over Japan, tearing through the land and breaking all of its glass.
