Hikari Sentai Maskman

Basri RX

Prism Flash!
A Q about the show.

Have they ever shown the emperor Zehba unmasked? (I haven't watched till the end)
Cuz I just found this:

Or is this just a rejected design?

It's not a rejected design, I think they had planned for Zeba to unmask himself, maybe even be human (similar to Flashman's La Deuce), but I think they ditched that in favor of having him be a mutant who's lying to his officers.

It probably had something to do with the actor, too. The man in the picture is Takeo Shinkai, an actual actor, who played Zeba for the first few episodes of Maskman. After that, he's just replaced by JAC stuntman Hideaki Kusaka. They probably decided to not bother having him unmasked after the switch and the ads with Shinkai, I'm not sure.

Shinkai did pop up in a later episode of Maskman as Kenta/Black Mask's old kung-fu master, though.

Yes, it is the best! Even though I never understood a thing they said, it's one of my favorite!! It even has one of the best opening songs sung by the great Hironobu Kageyama!!!

Hey bro, have you heard of the song by Kageyama entitled "Ohra ni Kagayake! Great Five!"? It's the one when the Turboranger carrier comes out of their base and unloads the Great Five or Galaxy Robo. It's freaking sweet!! :jam:

Probably not...I really gotta get my friend to come here. He had a chance to see him live once. He got me into Sentai, Toku, and got me to become the Otaku I am today! The only 2 people that have seen what he looks like are Keith and Trevor(megaranger)

Sorry to bring back an old topic.

Wanna ask something.
During the ending credits, there was this glowing piece of string that the Maskman played with.

Question is: Is it the same piece of string that was seen in one of the episodes.... sorry, can't remember episode number. I'll just describe it.

Its about people who were trapped underground and some had never even seen the blue sky. It was mainly with Blue Mask. The others managed to get to the underground and Red Mask used this string to make a ladder to let the people escape to the surface.

Is there any name given to that glowing thingy?

Masky String maybe? That was never given a name as I recall correctly.

I remember playing this string game during my elementary years and we called it "Maskman."
