Has Children's TV and TV in general been going downhill lately?

Yes, please. Because the only ones coming to my mind right now are Batman: The Brave and The Bold and The Secret Saturdays.

Ironically, a lot of those old cartoons were drawn in japan. The 80's were proof of what we could accomplish when we all work together

I also have my own issues with Batman and the Secret Saturdays. The writing is good, but the designs are too geometric and simple. We're not getting a lot of detail in these old cartoons

Yes. It's all reality shows and dubbed anime now.

Yes, please. Because the only ones coming to my mind right now are Batman: The Brave and The Bold and The Secret Saturdays.

There are those two, and I would include Spectacular Spider-Man, Transformers Animated, Wolverine and the X-Men, Ben 10: Alien Force, Avatar the Last Airbender, and The Sarah Jane Adventures (assuming Sci-Fi actually picks up season two).

Avatar is one of hte only ones that actually spent time producing items with a lot of detail. Almost all of those other shows (haven't seen sarah jane adventures) have an animation style that is uninspiring and oversimplistic

The whole world is going down hill. Like seriously!

TV in general disappoints me these days. Primetime has been taken over by the reality craze, at least for the most part. Growing up, I had shows to watch every night of the week. These days, I'm lucky to get one night of primetime programming that doesn't make me ill.

Daytime shows aren't any better for me at this point. I like a couple soaps, but as of the last few years, even they're in the toilet. Any character I actually want to watch either gets killed off or booted into the background, receiving less air time than a potted plant!

I haven't watched English kids shows in quite a while, so I can't really comment there. Based on the commercials I've seen though, none of them look like they could hold a candle to the stuff I grew up with. VR Troopers, the old X-Men cartoon, ect.

Pretty much the only things I've watched lately that I've really been satisfied with are Toku downloads.

Just watch any HBO original series, they're all quality. As for network shows Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galatica, Scrubs, CSI: NY, House, The Office, The Mentalist, etc. The list goes on.

Is this what happens when people who don't actually understand children make television for children, or is this what happens when people who are only in it for the money make children's television
