It's so frustratingly difficult it's hilarious. This isnt a game, rather a 23 minute movie of a guy playing through it with commentary. I cant believe I watched it all but the level designer was so fucking clever that I had to see if the guy could beat it

No that's not a real Mario game. It's a modded (possibly emulator/rom) level that just some fan made for masochistic fans to play.

Haha wow, it's reached even here. I know the guy who did the commentary. For the record, he wasn't playing it at all. He took the video and just made comments as he watched it, spur of the moment. That may take some of the magic away, but I'm tired of people thinking that he was the one actually playing. XD

It was dubbed in? God it sounded very realistic, he's got great voice-acting skills.

Those levels are screwed up. If the designer actually modded the levels all the way to 8-4, I seriously doubt anyone would have the patience to play through them. The designer is goddamn smart though, he's great at predicting the gamer's actions and thwarting them, especially with those invisible blocks. I must also commend the real gamer who was playing the levels in the vid, because he was really patient and determined with the levels. I would have thrown my gameboy at the wall after 10 minutes of that crap.

Finally, I'm pretty sure I saw the gamer crack a hole in the upper wall in level 1-1. In the normal Mario levels, cracking a hole in the upper wall and walking on it was one of the fastest ways to the finish. Why didn't he just jump up and walk on the upper wall all the way to the finish then? Did he think that it was cheating if he did so, or that such a method would make the game too easy? Gamer's pride. :rolleyes2:

Agreed, wyyc. But also because he might not have been able to jump that high. Just enough to crack the whole I guess.

Nah, he could have reached up there. The hole wasnt that far up. I guess he either didnt think about it or it's gamers pride. Lord knows I couldnt have beaten that level.
