They couldn't possibly compare to Tsuburaya's current remasters. These were produced by Tsuburaya and Panasonic (yes, that Panasonic), and over 700 hours were spent digitally removing dirt and print damage from each episode, one frame at a time. That's 34,560 frames per episode, times 39 episodes -- that's a freakin' lot of frames. These make even Tsuburaya's previous masters for laserdisc look like mud. Besides the interviews with writer/director/voice actor Peter Fernandez and voice actress Corrine Orr, what else would they have possibly come up with? Still gallery? There's probably not as much material as if they worked with Tsuburaya Productions on this... not a chance. No offense to BCI, whom I am working with on other upcoming Japanese licenses (they asked me to work on the ULTRAMAN box sets, but I had to turn down the offer due to conflict of interest).

Best of luck to both BCI and Tsuburaya Productions and may Chaiyo rot in Hell.

Well to celebrate, I'm watching Ultraman the Next and the Tiga ep where Daigo follows Chalija to TPC during the production of Ultra Q and Shodai Ultraman bails him out and the two deliver a double khosen to Yanakargie. That ep is my favorite Ultra show of all time.

I can hardly believe it -- 40 years! And I thought Star Trek was old :laugh:

Hope I don't get flamed too much for this, but my sentimental favorite is The Ultimate Hero, mostly because a couple friends who I work with today had worked on the show -- and because of which a few years ago when the shop I'm at started making props for the first few episodes of "Enterprise," we used a casting of the WINR blaster as the base for one of the alien guns; I believe it ended up being the Andorian phaser.

And I sooooo wanted to use the WINR hand-scanner on the show -- it needed Archer or T'Pol to walk around seeking new life and new civilizations, holding a prop with a rotating radar dish...

WOW! Now that's TRIVIA! I think that fans in Japan would be blown away by that -- both TREK and Toku fans alike. :laugh: I was on the set of ULTIMATE HERO for a couple of days, back in the summer of 1993, and have some fond memories, too. Too bad the show wasn't as good as it should have been...

Thanks, I just do my part! As for the compliments to your work -- I have to admire your diligence, skill, and patieniece. I wish that I had time to make and build props, or just to do things like modify Bandai Henshin Braces! :laugh:

Ultraman was one of my childhood favorites which got me into tokusatsu. Thank you Ultraman and I hope for more years to come!
