HAPPY 40th ANNIVERSARY, ULTRAMAN!!!

It's not my favorite franchise (although I don't think I really have a favorite anymore), but I still love Ultraman. Here's to another 40 years!

Ultraman fans. If you don't care, why'd you post?

You weren't alive then, so that isn't hard.

Not when you have original recordings and parents who WERE stationed there at the time.

Ignoramous? Is that even a word or did JFChasez or whatever make it up?

Ultraman will not even be 40 years from now. Hell if it is, it'll be awhole new genration/genre as most of the shows including TOEI staff will be in there what 70-80's.

You've been warned before, you've been banned before and you never shape up. So, goodbye.

Thank you so much!

Btw, is anyone going to buy Ultraman Volume 1 box sets on July 18th?

Isn't that the one from Chi...whatever, that Thai company that basically stole Ultraman? I'll probably buy it, being a college student, I don't really feel like paying super high prices to get it from Japan with no subs when I can get it cheaper with subs in America.

It was licensed through Chaiyo (unfortunately), but the company that licensed it does seem to truely care about the property and apparently have put some work into the DVDs. They're remastering the eps (don't know how they compare to Tsuburaya's though), and they're including some interesting extras.

Despite Chaiyo, I'll be getting the DVDs. We can at least show BCI that we want these series' on R1 DVD. And who knows, maybe Tsuburaya's trouble will be cleared up sooner than we think and we won't have to worry about supporting Chaiyo in future classic Ultraman R1 releases.

(perhaps a little overoptimistic, I know...)
