They couldn't possibly compare to Tsuburaya's current remasters. These were produced by Tsuburaya and Panasonic (yes, that Panasonic), and over 700 hours were spent digitally removing dirt and print damage from each episode, one frame at a time. That's 34,560 frames per episode, times 39 episodes -- that's a freakin' lot of frames. These make even Tsuburaya's previous masters for laserdisc look like mud. James Ballard has some comparison screen captures up at tokyomonsters.com
Besides the interviews with writer/director/voice actor Peter Fernandez and voice actress Corrine Orr, what else would they have possibly come up with? Still gallery? There's probably not as much material as if they worked with Tsuburaya Productions on this... not a chance. No offense to BCI, whom I am working with on other upcoming Japanese licenses (they asked me to work on the ULTRAMAN box sets, but I had to turn down the offer due to conflict of interest).
Best of luck to both BCI and Tsuburaya Productions and may Chaiyo rot in Hell.
