HALO vs. Metroid!!!

An opinion which anyone is entitled to, but like I said...it's all a matter of personal preference. I thought it was very well done, but then again I'm FAR from an expert on this sort of thing.

Seeing as I've done and been trained in animation, Yes... yes I do. Once I'm done with school I'll also BE an animator. Just because the guy put a rediculous amount of work into it doesn't make it good.

The only point of that movie was to attract attention. The guy said so himself. ...also it's not the animation I don't like... I can appreciate his animation. It's everything else I can't stand.

1-NO creativity. Except for the sheild/rifle trick, and some of the MC vs Samus bits, ever single bit of that flick was ripped off of someone else's work. Alot of it were coreography taken DIRECTLY from matrix reloaded.

2-Poor Pacing. The scenes were all way too fast. I realise that he was trying to do ALOT of stuff and keep it in time with the music, but he should have picked better music then. Everything is way to frantic and too hyper. It makes the whole thing look REALLY amateur. I know he is amateur.... but you don't want to look amateur... I mean come on.

3-Bad music. DON'T USE MATRIX MUSIC. The stuff at the begining and end are fine... everything in the middle is terrible. It's cliched and doesn't work with whats going on in the scene.

4-Terrible Story. I don't care if it's Nicole or whoever... He clearly implies throughout the begining that it's Master Cheif. To suddenly have the suit open and it's nicole inside is just rediculous and stupid. Plus the whole lesbian thing is just dumb. I mean seriously... they had only met like 2 minutes earlier and had been trying to kill each other, and suddenly they're making out?

5-This was a sell-out movie. He only made this movie because a)Halo is popular, and b)Metroid is popular, and c)a versus movie would be really popular. He's basically said as much himself.

Anyway, that could have been a good movie. If he had focused more on the MC vs Samus part(which is the good part of the movie), had gotten better music, and slowed things down, it would have been alot better.

Right now however I find that the whole thing is largely a piece of dren.

Well... whatever, the rest of the internet seems to like it.

I mean...obviously it's not going to win awards or anything but I found it very entertaining which was all that I was looking for.

Second, that wasn't Master Chief. It never says Master Chief. We clearly know it's Nicole from DEAD OR ALIVE 4. Nicole, you remember. The FEMALE Spartan?

Except it doesn't look anything at all like her nor does the character move like Nicole did.

This guy did this purely for the shock value of having a female spartan in a lesbian love whatever... he even says as much.

You kidding me? It's a fan-vid of Metroid and Halo. Of cource it's not going to be original! He's taking two set franchises and making a movie about them.

But there are always degrees to originality. I can enjoy fanvids, heck I love 'em, but that work is not a fan-vid. It's a popularity vid. It's the formula of POPULAR FRANCHISE + POPULAR FRANCHISE + LESBIANS = WIN, which I'm sorry does not equal win.... it equals lazy.

I mean level with me here... is this a movie that suggests that the creator actually cares about these franchises or is this a movie where a guy took popular characters, made them do matrix fights, and then be lesbians just for kicks?

It's a frustrating movie for me to watch. I usually love terrible fan-vids, but that's because you can tell that the makers are really passionate about what they like. After watching that movie all I can think is that it was buillt on the same logic as Charlies Angels. Now I could go on and on, about how that is a terrible thing, but much better people on the internet have already done so to great detail.

This movie just comes across as cheap and lazy. He copied the music, copied the coreography, and basically copied the plot from just about everyteam up ever, with added rediculous lesbianism for extra profit.

I don't want him to be original... I want him to show that he gives a crap. That's all he had to do for me to like this movie.


I mean how would you react if someone made a fanvid of a teamup between the original Kamen Rider and Big One, then put the whole thing to the cheesiest matrix song in history, stole all the choreography from the most popular action movie at the time, then at the end they take their helmets off and reveal that they're actually Female supermodels wearing bikini's and they riverdance off stage.

Would such a vid be popular? Probably. Would it be good? No. About the only time such a video would be apropritate is if it was a farce. But that video was deffinantly not meant to be a farce.

I mean for fans of Metroid that movie was like a punch in the face. It would be like Ultraman taking his helmet off and revealing he's actually Donald Trump Who then tells everyone they're fired cause it's the popular thing to do at the time.

Yeah, some of the fight scenes were cool...yeah, hot lesbians...because we've NEVER seen hot lesbians before...it was just a big pile of ass overall. Over the top doesn't even come near this. What epic level D&D character would you have to be to Great Cleave that many space pirate monsters (with like 4 class levels each) in that amount of time while running at full speed?

I'm with VK, I'm not going to buy into it just because it's got zomg action and hot lesbians at the end. I smiled during the blatant matrix ripoffs, but it's like whatever...it's been done before. I guess it was "fun", but was it? Because now, I'm left with what...images of one of my all-time favorite video game characters as a smoking hot jedi lesbian in a blue nipple suit with a light saber whip, who apparently doesn't even need her blaster and armor to slay untold hundreds of space pirates, all without a scratch? Fucking barf.
