Hey everyone. Just wanted to know if anyone here is a fan of a boxing anime called Hajime no Ippo which was released as Fighting Spirit in the US.
It's one of my top favorite, I am also an avid reader of the manga.
I like this title because Ippo, the main character, is based on my favorite boxer, Mike Tyson. He uses his stance and his fighting style is based off of him as well as other types of power based fighters like Jack Dempsey.
The fights are very technical and go very deep and realistic with the boxing. Then when you watch a real boxing match, you get a better understanding to some capacity. Even though it's limited to that, I feel that the quality of the fights are to the quality of something you'd see like in the Street Fighter movie.
The characters are all interesting too. They each get fleshed out in their own way though for the supporting cast, that will take a while.
