So, I've been out of the Gundam loop since Unicorn episode 4. I enjoyed the first Gundam Builders, and thought this might be cool. Is it a good show? The fact that it has Rumba Ral is already a plus for me.

I haven't seen the first Gundam Builders, so I can't answer your question directly.

Avoid it if you absolute abhor stadium-battle type series regardless of story like YugiOh, Beyblade etc. If you are willing to overlook that, though and , if you

1. Don't mind Gundam without the children-stuck-in-war theme
2. Get giggity seeing Gundams from different series with some modifications fighting each other
3. Appreciate cameos from other gundam series, including a major role from Ramba Ral.

Then you'd love this series. Awesome fight animation. Entertaining characters. Awesome OST.

It's so true... Only when compared with G Gundam does this anime come off as the "more realistic" of the two.

If you liked the Gunpla Builders OVa, there's a good chance you'll like this too because Build Fighters is that OVA but magnified by like, a thousand.
