Personally, I've always felt like that adult themes were there. It's always been there. It's just way it's been filmed is so Soap-Opera-ish now, that you can't help but wonder if this is supposed to be the hero you're supposed to take seriously.

It's deteriorating I can tell, the effect of this usual "formula" they keep using. It'll change sooner or later.

I'd say give it a few years, you'll have your constant violence back. Kids are growing up, and they'll probably want something bigger than just petty CGI work.

I just did and in that very same post that you quoted. Pretty much all of Ryuki is fairly morbid, even for a show aimed at 10-12 year olds

I keep debating over whether to even keep replying to you. But I can't help it.

Anyway, Blade didn't have a motorcycle "battle". Not like Kuuga's. Not with the kind of trick-riding and stunt shots that Kuuga's did. Blade's fight ON a motorcycle was just that. They raced, they took shots at each other, they fell off their bikes, they ended the fight on foot. There was one part where the bad guy jumped the good guys while green **** flew everywhere...but come on, it wasn't anywhere near the level of Kuuga's stuntwork.

From the first time Kuuga got on his bike they were riding through urban areas, doing crazy **** that you don't expect a bike to be able to do. Kuuga's bike stunts were more like motocross. Blade's...are just going fast. They're both exciting in their own way, but hardly comparable.

With Kamen Rider nowadays, they don't seem to use their bikes because the writers don't put them in situations where they need them. They should be called Kamen Warriors, not Kamen Riders in that case. With Kuuga, he needed the bike everywhere because he didn't have all these power-ups. He treated his bike like a horse, and I think that's what's been missing from today's shows. The care for the motorcycle. Half these wannabe idols just ride the bike cause it comes with the show.

I guess the whole show teased it though, they filmed good bike actions in the opening sequence of Blade Brave as well as the whole beginning of Blade riding off to a distant place.

To be fair, Blade's bike actions were pretty rough too, except for the fact that the only scenes we saw were pretty short.

The only real motorcycle battle early Blade (and, maybe Blade in general) had was in the Black Fang arc.

If you think that one fight makes the whole show compare bike-wise to Kuuga then, I have to wonder where you're coming from.

That statement is only true to you if you lived in the 20th century.

We live in the 21st century, where communication and mass media travels so fast that it's impossible to forget things. Trust me when I say that kids of today WILL stick with what they've been given, because I already see it happening in real life.

Mixtapes to CDs, Bigass white phones to cell phones, Madona looks more cleaner in the 90s than the 80s.

I don't know, how do you explain how civilisation changes? It's constant. You don't really know for sure what's gonna happen next, but when you do, you can't really compare it to how it happened in the past. History can be said to repeat itself, but not completely.

Look at them now. All of them are so up to date with their mini smart phones. Basically everyone that has money has an Apple Product. In a few years time, the Entertainment business will fall on demand of higher expectations, because it'll be on demand. Nowadays we stream what we wanna watch, like us. We just search it and watch it. Barely buy **** out of it, but when we do we empty our pockets like the **** we're getting is golden. LOL

I'm just saying, it becomes a required taste of an era of kids. My generation is definitely a violent one.

that still does not mean that Toei or Tsuburaya will necessarily adjust the content their target group for their Sunday morning serial programs to cater to the kids who have grown. free-to-air television is always subject to network demands which may or may not be affected by certain cultural or social pressures.

i'm just being curious, do you work in the media or film/television industry? I do work in the latter actually, so I do know how stuff like this works. do I think Tokusatsu is heading back in the violent direction of the 80s in a few years? I doubt so.
