GekiChopper: A Disappointment?

^I'm sure he means Ken.

I dunno where all the love for GekiViolet is coming from...to me, he's not all that extraordinary. GekiChopper is better IMO.

Don't pass judgment on Chopper yet.

I thought the same when I first saw 28 (that he was useless), but then, 2 episodes after his introduction, you can see that he hasn't gotten serious at all.

In episode 30, he let himself get screwed over by Mele, but when he decided to get serious, he got her in her transformed state while unmorphed. I haven't seen any other Ranger do anything like that in a one on one fight with Mele.

Furthermore, Shafu has called him a prodigy. He only has ordinary Geki, but he's capable of matching the other Rangers' Kageki-Shigeki combination, which is really quite shocking. Just imagine him getting Kageki AND turning that into a blade.

I agree with what FK said. Toei didn't put the black belt there to hold his pants up. Ken has done something even the Kensei couldn't achieve, by obtaining GekiKenSan.

We're halfway through the series, so I think it's useful to list all the major forces in the show thus far:

Jan: Arguably the Rangers' wild card, Jan apparently has a natural talent for GekiJyuKen. He was the first to obtain Kageki, and he even seemed to obtain it quite easily. His immense potential is one random factor that could seriously change the plot.

Gou, Ran and Retsu: As much as I like Gou, I have to say that he's become a support character just like Ran and Retsu. I see their progress being pegged against Jan's. And so far, the only way I see Gou improving is combining Kageki and Dorinki to get Super Shigeki, which Toei will most likely not do.

Ken: Another wild card, but to a lesser extent than Jan. THe main reason I classify him as a wild card is because his ability is yet unknown, and Master Shafu acknowledges his genius. As far as I know, Master Shafu hasn't called anyone else a prodigy, and we know that he won't call any random GekiJyuKen user a prodigy; Ken's Amazing Ability isn't for show either. Master Shafu called him back to increase the triangle's strength, which means he does trust Ken's power. Furthermore, Ken could possibly improve. With his genius talent, he could learn new techniques, or even master Kageki and turn it into KagekiKenSan.

Kensei and Kenma: Their role in the story right now is to further the plot of the younger generation. That's the only role they have to play. The Kenma will soon meet their end at the hands of the Rangers, so yeah, they'll serve their roles by opposing the Kensei once more, and then die (not very quietly; Maku should be howling all throughout his final moments).

Miki: Eye candy for older fans.

Sachiko: Eye candy for younger fans.

Natsumi: Eye candy for lolicons.

Rio and Mele: Their combination is a major wild card, and the only one I see countering this is the wild card of Jan, and possibly Byakko. Rio and Mele have shown tremendous ability, and they improve at a rather frightening pace. Mele has just learnt Dorinki, and Rio is on his way to the JyuKenSeiChi to obtain new power.

Ron: Quite possibly the biggest wild card in the show thus far, no one knows a **** about who this guy is or what he wants, and that makes him even more interesting. His strength is even greater than Maku's, and his manipulation skills are top notch. He's pretty much the puppet master of the show; I see Shafu's experience and wit as a possible counter to Ron's manipulation.

Bae: The final villian. 'Nuff said. Bow in fear of his power!

(Seriously though, word are powerful, so there could be a slight possibility that it's Bae.)

Gajah: Fodder character.

Dark Shadow: See above. Oops, wrong show!

Geki sure has a nice plot set up.
