Garo Season 1 HD?

"coming out before HD existed" is untrue. The Dallas ABC affiliate started broadcasting in 1080i in Feburary 1998. And being made before HD existed doesn't mean anything anyway. Hell, I Love Lucy exists in HD quality.

Well obviously HD existed before, the technology obviously had to come from somewhere. However, HD was not a standard until 2007-2008, if then, and Garo came out in 2005. Thus, Garo was around before HD.

BTW, to me, HD is 1080P and nothing less. 720 does not qualify in HD in my book.

Your book is wrong in this case.

Oh, I know my book is wrong, but if it ain't in 1080P and was made after 2008, I won't watch it. Well, except for BBC shows, because for some reason, something about their stuff being in PAL makes the whole thing wonky.

I'm going to avoid this whole "before HD became the standard" discussion since it's kind of subjective...

I think the better question to ask would be "Was Garo Season 1 ever released on Blu-Ray?" And as far as I know, no, it wasn't. If someone up-scaled the DVD releases to HD size, I guess that's fine. As long as the video shape wasn't altered in some unnatural way (like from square shaped video to letterhead shaped video). I'm kind of a videophile, so stuff like that REALLY gets under my skin. :shakefist For those who don't know, the shape of a video is not what determines if it is SD or HD. We've had letterhead shaped movies LONG before there was HD televisions on the market, and there are a few Blu-Ray releases of movies and TV shows that are still square shaped.
