[Anime] Garo - Honoo no Kokuin

Two things I'm expecting...

Opening Narration:

"Demonic Horrors that lurk in the darkness. Demons that hate, that feed upon mankind. There was a time where humans lived in fear of these fiends from the shadows. But mankind received a ray of hope. The light of hope that was the Makai Knights. The Demon Hunters. The Protectors of Mankind. Thus, they were exalted by Humanity."

"Where there is light, shadow lurks and fear reigns...if by the blades of Knights...mankind is given hope."

...followed by a JAM Project song.

My god, that anime hair. I can't help but think it reminds me of 5Ds. Actually who's the animator for this? That may be why.

I would never watch that. I would watch it subbed only. Every dub I have ever seen is garbage compared to a poorly done sub.

Well aren't you an open-minded fellow.

If it does get dubbed then you can always watch it subbed on DVD or Blu-Ray. I do have a feeling the fans will hate the idea of this being license because TV-Nihon will likely take down their subs.

No, I said watch the dub to One Piece, not that piece of crap whatever it was from 4Kids of ****.

Yeah... open-minded definitely means not complaining about the art style and being able to accept crappy dub voices. And before someone else tells me that I've never seen anything of the recent dubs, I have, and I still hate it. Preferences, we all have ours. I just hate that anyone ever thought dubbing anime was a good idea to begin with because it's not the same at all. I especially can't stand the whole dubbing an anime character's thoughts. They make it sound like someone's literally pissing their pants the whole time.

Well, I thought the same way, too, but there were notable exceptions. Samurai X/Rurouni Kenshin was one series where the dubbing was arguably superior to the original.

I think dubbing is definitely superior (no matter how mediocre the dub) when it comes for kids' shows, because kids either won't or can't read subtitles. But that shouldn't really be a concern here as Garo is not a kids' show.

I watched the subs of One Piece, you know the one with Japanese audio and English subtitles. It was god awful, I punched the person who recommended the subs to me and never spoke to that prick again.

Although Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon are probably the only worst dubs I still see being active. Yu-Gi-Oh's dubbing is so backwards that it's facepalming. I also want to punch the voice acting director that thinks Yuma's voice was a good idea. And Pokemon... has shitty script. And they need to stop singing opening that screams Pokemon in their lyrics. :redface2: But Pokemon Origins dub was pretty rocking though..

Because not everyone wants to watch it in a different language.

And some series don't work in Japanese, especially comedy. The purpose of the subs is to explain to us what is going on. As such, you lose the impact of the hilarity of a scene. If the dub has done its job, the scene is hilarious to us because we are laughing our butt off from the joke which was intended by the Japanese writers. As such, the dub has done its job by retaining the intention of the creators of the show.

But whatever, there is some retarded ass **** being said in here and my brain cells are starting to hurt from it. I think my IQ is going down from it so I'm out.
