Garage Hero: Stray Bullet

Looks very promising, and I do admire the camerawork that went on there.

The director is Fumihito (Or just Fumi) Minamitsuji. He's been a friend of mine since my action club days. He started off as a stuntman for shows like Gransazer, Justiriser, Sazer X, Lion Maru G, Cutie Honey The Live and Kamen Rider Kabuto.

Then he went on to be an action choreographer for Wecker Signa and eventually became an action director for the films: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evrk3c_MTCE"]Geisha vs. Ninja[/ame] and [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nXwlTxsJeg"]Gothic Lolita & Psycho[/ame]

The suit does look awfully cheap

I'm not really skilled when sculpting and molding. I basically just taught myself with YouTube, some DVDs and advice from Steve Wang and Layne Luna. In fact, I fucked up half of the suit and tried to cover it up by adding a torn up cape and some dark worn out colors.

But I think it actually works. Not only did I want to cover up the places where I messed up, but I wanted to give Gun Caliber that whole worn-out "Boba Fett" kinda look. Like he's really been through a rough time. Also, his character is really lazy so it also suits him in that respect since he doesn't do his laundry too often.

:O_O:

I loved Geisha vs Ninjas!

Why was this stickied? seems like a pretty normal thread to me

Because 3 years ago I tried to make a Japanese Superhero short film and only finished it until recently.

I COULD get into stuff like evading Japanese immigration, action clubs giving me a hard time, the overall pangs of film making in Japan...but I guess that would result in a pretty normal thread as well. :redface2:

I've actually never realized that he did alot of the majority of Tokusatsu shows that came from Japan. Beside directing, does he still do his own stunts?

Seconded.

There seems to a growing number of Indie toku topics popping up so why was this one specifically stickied?

Anyway despite the setbacks and the suit looking god awful, you can now move on to do other things and finally let this go man.

Maybe it would be worth considering a new forum for the discussion of indie projects like we were mentioning in Gkaiser thread?

I'm down for that.

Though I somehow think deep down that it will just be the same 4-8 people posting over and over again.

Small but tight community.

From time to time he does. But not as often as before due to a back injury which still haunts him sometimes. He's triying to focus more on his directing these days, but when there's not enough guys to do breakfalls, he'll get in there and do some stuntwork.
