GaoRanger versus Super Sentai (Warning: SPOILER ALERT!!!)

Life is showtime
Okay, Justice Review time! I received my DVDs today from ninjastriker, and I tell you the guy is just so goddamn good! Excellent quality, great price for a copy. Cost me a fiver (British Money.) If you feel interested, his site is http://ninjaforce.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Anywho, on with the review with one of the greatest team-up's ever! I say ONE of the greatest because many people here argue that GaoRanger versus Hurricanger is the best ever. Well we'll see about that! :P

Story:

Okay, pretty good story really. The GaoRanger's are fighting against Tsue Tsue and Yaba-Iba with their usual bunch or Orgettes. But just when they're winning, the Org's and Orgette's get Golden Horns and are suddenly beating the crap out of the GaoRangers! Then Rakushaasa and drains the GaoRanger's (except Red) of their fighting spirit. Now afraid of death and to fight, their G-Phones abandon them. But the GaoRangers refuse to give up and follow their G-Phones, whilst Red is stuck in an illusion made by Rakushaasa. He's fighting most of the Orgs that they have already killed! The G-Phones make their way towards four people, Red Falcon of Liveman, Ginga Blue of Gingaman, Go Yellow of GoGoV (how he gets the G-Phone is hilarious) and MegaPink of MegaRanger. Earlier on though, the GaoRangers were given some advice by a weird looking old man, who said there were previous coloured warriors like them in the past. Anyways, the four previous warriors refuse to give the GaoRangers their G-Phones back without regaining their fighting spirit. With some awesome flashbacks (and an AWESOME swordfight between GaoYellow and Red Falcon) the GaoRangers regain their spirit and go back to help Red. With a great henshin sequence, an appearance from all previous Red Warriors (AkaRanger to TimeRed) and a marvelous Mecha battle with all the mecha from GoRanger to GaoRanger, this is truely a team-up any Sentai fan MUST own! It's also great to watch if you are curious about the previous Sentai series.

One of the longest Super Sentai movies ever, 1 hour and 30 mins (GaoRanger: Fire Mountain Howls! is the same length), you must get this! Although the HK is really rare nowadays, my advice to you is to buy a copy from someone. :D

Rider Knight, OUT! Might include some screenshots if I can figure out how to. Heh...XD

Anyone notice the "Three shades of Miyauchi Hiroshi"?

Bamba is on land watching the battle, then they cut. Then, out of nowhere

Miura: "GO!!"

Akira: "GO!!"

Never noticed that, roughly whereabouts is it and I'll check it out?

Oh yeah! That's intentional dude! Only natural that GoRanger get to lead the fight against him, dur. Plus, that's what they ALWAYS do when Babylon launches. Seriously, have you never seen any GoRanger?

Yeah I know, I'm just saying it was funny. I've seen it when it's happened. For me it was just funny to see three characters played by the same man in different parts of his life kind of funny, that's all ^^

I remember when I first read of Gaoranger VS Super Sentai and thinking it sounded so cool, but when I first saw it, I was slightly disappointed. It was a half-hearted rush, I think. Instead of being a boring old clip-show, they should have focused on bringing more older heroes back, having an actual plot, and some action, damn it!

I like the movie, but it could have been so much better if they had attempted. The best part for me was the return of Yuusuke Amamiya/Red Falcon, and that scene where he's at the graves. I always thought Gou/Obular died, but I guess his not having a tombstone there proves otherwise -- the guy took ten or so bullets in the chest from Guardnoid Gash, for cryin' out loud!

But not only did they get Daisuke Shima to return as the Yuusuke character, but...Red Falcon suit actor Kazuo Niibori! Niibori, who played Aka Ranger and Battle Japan through Red Hawk in-suit before retiring returns to be Red Falcon in-suit once more. I think that was the coolest thing the movie did. Forget getting Miyauchi, he agrees to anything (Winspector, anyone?), but to get a stuntman who's pushing 50 to come out of retirement to play his old character in-suit rocks.

I hope they do this movie -- but better -- next year.

I really liked this movie. It was my second experiance w/ Sentai in general (first was the GaoRanger:Fire Mountain movie) and I really enjoyed it. Especially since it had so many scenes of all the past Sentai shows.
