Games you liked but others might not know about

Two games immediately spring to mind:

Eretzvaju AKA Evil Zone. It's... honestly, once you get past the opening cut scene it's kinda ugly looking and the controls are really primitive but it has a certain simple charm to it.

This is one of those games that, I enjoyed it the first time but, as I've learned more about the genre it's parodying, whenever I play it again, I find something new to laugh at. It's not the greatest fighting game or mecha game ever but again, its charm is able to overcome those flaws.

I'm playing the PSP version of Lunar now. It's really good.

King's Field: The Ancient City (PS2)
Eternal Ring (PS2)
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (PS1)
Jet Force Gemini (N64)
The Dark Spire (NDS)

I would say Megaman Legends 1/2... but I figure most people heard of them, but didn't buy them.

Lunar 1 and 2 were first on Sega cd. They then released them on Saturn in Japan. And on the PS1 in Japan as the complete versions. In the US we got the original sega cd games and the PS1 versions. The GBA game was nothing more than a retelling of Lunar SSSC with no videos and a gimped story. There was a NDS Lunar game that was utter crap.

The original Lunar games have a pretty good fanbase. I prefer the original Sega CD versions to the Saturn/PS1 complete versions.

We never had a Sega CD or Sega Saturn, surprisingly. If I did, I'd always be playing Virtual On. lol

What was the PSP version of the game like?

It was the PS1/Saturn complete version with improved graphics and sound. It also has new intro and other minor story things.

What KingRanger said. I just don't like the fact that it has Yuri Lowenthal in it, because he's in my other PSP games as well (P3P and Star Ocean 1, don't know about Star Ocean 2). He's in way too many games.

But I actually think it's cool to play it with upgraded graphics and such. The older graphics sometimes made things hard for me, like when enemies did certain attacks, they would have a different animation sprite that seemed similar to their normal animation sprite. The new graphics make those little ditties more noticable.

....I really hate Kyle's voice, though.

I loved that one! esp. that most of the staffers in the game are from Macross. one of the games I do want to play despite not having a dreamcast.

Metal Storm, the game was never released here in Europe. Though, I had a famicom and some relative gave it to me.

One of my classic favorites back in the day was this little ditty

And then there was Lunar 2, which IMO seemed better than the first. It originated in the Sega Saturn (or something with Sega), had a second version in the same platform, and the moved to Playstation as "Complete". It even spawned a GBA game, and the first game now has a PSP remake with additional stuff, like a new prologue (that practically kinda ruins the rest of the game for those who haven't played it yet, but meh).

Though honestly, I can see why it didn't really generate too much popularity...

Freaking LOVED the Lunar series. Eternal Blue is my fave.

The game I love is Ephemeral Fantasia. This game is quite underrated, but I can see why many people were turned off by it.

This game was like Final Fantasy mixed with Majora's Mask, with how EF treated the latter made it a big turn off. No, it wasn't bad, IT WAS HARD. Unlike MM, this game did not hold your hand with the looping time and tell you where to go and when. After like the first three or four times when your time period loops, you lose all guidance, needing the aid of NPCs and exploration to figure out key moments, events, and schedules.

Not only that, the quests to recruit teammates were fun for the most part, many of them having great personalities, Rummy and Gallhint to name my two faves.

Also, the music along with the lute playing mini-game were AMAZING. I wish I had the Gitaroo Man controller to play it with. The slot machine drinking game with Claire was great for laughs.

I loved the plot of this game and I do make references to the main hero, Mouse, in all my bard type characters in stories and RPs.
