"Fuun Lion Maru (Storm Cloud Lion Maru) takes place in feudal Japan, the time of the samurai and ninja. Such programs were common in Japan at the same time as westerns were popular in the USA.
The age of civil wars in Japan has come to an end. There should be peace, but the forces of darkness never rest. A new group has arisen which seeks to conquer and inslave."

I was in the mood for some classic non-Ultra toku so I decided to start on Lion Maru Fuun (2nd installment of trilogy). I gotta say, I'm DAMN impressed with the fight scenes involving the swords/sword fights lol. The series seems pretty damn serious too which I wasn't really expecting, especially after watching the first few Lion Maru G eps a few months back.

Dan Shishimaru is a badass aswell. I just wish I was able to get my hands on Kaiketsu Lion Maru and watch the trilogy is order.

Here was the only site I could find info on the series: http://incolor.inetnebr.com/stuart/lionmaru/fuun.htm

Black Jaguar is pretty awesome too.

I've wanted to watch this show but to be brutally honest with you I thought those lion heads were kinda freaky lol.

Reminds of King from Tekken :P

Have they done Subbed Episodes? Looks awesome I would really like to watch it :)

They look much cooler when you see them in action. Better than The Kensei or Doggy Kruger, that's forsure. None of them were as badass ass as Shishimaru.

After finishing this series I gotta say this fucking ROCKED everything. From beginning to end. Best damn Ninja sword fighting in any Tokusatsu I've ever seen.

The seriousness and tone of the series was just fantastic aswell. I rate this series right up there with Zubat and Kamen Rider as the best of the '70s.

Dan Shishimaru is as badass as Hayakawa Ken (Zubat). The cool part is he played a different character but the hero in the 1st installment of the trilogy (Kaiketsu Lion Maru). Never heard of anything like that before.

The series gets an A+ from me. Hands down, incredible and entertaining. Especially if you love the entire Ninja theme.

I would mine seeing a Lion Maru Trilogy DVD Boxset released one day. The only thing I think I'll laugh at is when I finally watch Lion Maru G and compare it to this lol.

Damn this series rocked. Now I need to really get ahold of Kaiketsu Lion Maru.
