Four episodes into Kiva and....

I feel they kind of wanted to follow a Ryoutarou route with Wataru, but I find him to be a little weird. First he is a clean freak and and acts all shy and stuff, but the moment he transforms he starts laying a smackdown on the Fangires? O_O

Speaking of Fangires... why is Wataru figting them? Where does the belt ? How come Kivat can talk? What is that fliying castle? What is up with the transition form past to the present:sly: Usually they explain this stuff on the first two episodes. :sweat:

Now, the suit. I find the Kiva suit really interesting save for the belt. Kivat... is okay, I guess. I like how he says "Kivate Ikuze!" :anime: But what the hell is up with that Garuru guy? He is suddenly there with no explanation on who he is. :shakefist Something tells me there are going to be a lot of ass pulls in this series. :redface2:

By the way, do all the humans attacked by the Fangires die instantly? Or can they be cured by defeating the Fangire? If not, then this is a really dark series. :disappoin

I still dont know what to think about the girls :sly:. So much stuff going on at the same time. I also dont know if Otoya is either a pimp or a jerk, but he seems like an interesting character. There is also that Nago guy, which I guess is the secondary rider, right? He looks interesting at the moment. :thumbs:

I'm not gonna lie, I love Kiva, it's currently my second-favourite Kamen Rider series.

While many people say "You shouldn't drop this and that show after so and so long, it gets better later!", Kiva is a show that actually DOES reward you for sticking with it. It has a lot of plot twists and reveals later on, and saves a lot of vital information until around the midway point.

IMO, Kiva is the slowest-starting of all the Heisei shows, maybe apart from Ryuki, since you don't get that much information at all until quite a few episodes in.

Everything you've complained about will be explained, in great detail. You just need to give it time, since it's very slow starting out.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with liking Magiranger. :eyebrow: It's one of my favorite sentai series. As for Kiva, I may check out a few episodes since I'm looking for another KR to watch besides Fourze. So far I've watched Kuuga (which isn't bad) and Kabuto (kind of losing interest after ep 15 or so). I might give either Kiva or Ryuki a try.

Kiva makes more sense when you watch it in chronological order.

Also, it's Den-O written by a writer who's a shadow of his former self, so it's not exactly Rider newbie material.

The one thing about Kiva is that they just didn't follow up, especially on why he was worst than the Fangires. Which was the purpose of Dark Kiva, until Otoya took over the role. Which threw out the idea that he was a bigger threat. Not to mention that when they sometimes introduce a new weapon, it's only used once or twice. Which is a waste.

However I did felt that they tried to capitalize on Den-O's sucesse. But it didn't work out.

The show doesn't turn good until about episode 12.

When I first saw Kiva, I thought it was one of the best shows ever.

But, I recently rewatched it and found myself having trouble enjoying it. Mainly cause I realized some of the issues that the two-timeline concept caused. Like, how the guys in 1986 rarely beat a Fangire. Also the fact that many of the characters didn't really do much in the show. Sigh. I wish I could enjoy it as much as the first time. So disappointing. :disappoin

Kiva's beginning was a little rough, but by episode 7, the show is just top notch and continues to stay that way all of the through minus one specific time traveling two parter. Not to mention Wataru by far gets the best character development and truly grows as a hero than any character since Agito.

That's only because you need to watch more Sentai.

I don't think I'll ever get over the Pink Fan attack. But the series did improve big time in the 2nd half. But still.... Kiva ftw.

That's like asking if anyone ever attacked and injured/killed by a monster is magically cured when the monster is killed. I don't see how this makes Kiva any darker than other shows. Kiva is hardly dark at all. It could and should have been a bit darker given the motif.

Anyway, you talk as though being dark is bad in and of itself.
