It's interesting that a song by Leona Lewis is going to be in the game. A lot of people on this FF13 forum I've been to have never heard of her before and were complaining like hell, saying stuff like she ruined the game or the new theme song sucks or something stupid like that.

After listening to that song....she has a fantastic voice, I just don't like the song at all. It's not like the game is RUINED or something because she's singing it. I just prefer the Japanese song much much more.

The song is beautiful, but it doesn't exactly scream Final Fantasy. Maybe I'll change my mind once I see how it's incorporated into the game.

Still, if people didn't know who Leona Lewis was before, they will once the game hits.

Well to put it simply.

Similar plot themes: The whole "race of people no one likes" thing (more so Advent Children), main characters are part of a resistance against some organization, and the "Oh god why was I chosen to do this and save the world" premise.

Similar designs: Referring to the scenery, just compare the cityscape to that in FFVII.

Similar archetypes: The innocent upbeat girl, rowdy disgruntled hotblooded guy that heads the resistance, stereotypical black man, and of course the melodramatic main character that was once working for the organization they are now fighting against.

Cloud's the main character again: Well Nomura even said "Lightning is Cloud but just a girl" aside from that they're of the same archetype with a similar backstory and they reused Cloud's Advent Children character model as the basis for Lightning. Only difference is they just played dress up and left the face and stature the same.

Same team as VII: Just that, its the same team behind VII.
