Favorite Desserts?

What's everyone's favorite desserts? I'm putting together a little tried and true cookbook/scrapbook. Recipes aren't required (unless you have some kickass recipes you don't mind volunteering). The only thing is I need ideas of what I should make.

Personally, while I love to bake, I'm not too big of a fan of sweets, with the exception of pies. Mostly key lime and pecan pies. Yum.

Key lime and pecan. <3 Those tend to be my favorite types of dessert pies, I also think pumpkin is pretty good because it doesn't have the traditional sweetness that overpowers the taste and leaves you with a nice spice that compliments all aspects of it. Empanadas are awesome really good and are generally my favorite types of desert (can even eat them as the main course when filled with meats and other things, tends to go nicely with the sweetness of the dough used)

My number 1 dessert is Cheesecake. Regular plain cheesecake, maybe with toppings but never swirls or other layers. Though I know where to find the most delicious mango cheesecake ever! Its pretty good.

At number on my hit parade of 'I can't resist!' is nanaimo bars! Those are just DELICIOUS!

The rest more or less fluctuate depending on my mood. Cherry pie, sugar pie, Strawberry pie, Strawberry Sugar Pie, Apple sugar pie, Dutch-style apple pie, apple crumble, crème brulée, rice pudding, pecan pie, panut butter cookies, Paris-Brest, maple moka, home-made plain donuts, my grandma's 'corn flake pie' (which only really has cornflakes as crusts and not a whole lot of it actually), the Quebecois standbys of sucre a la creme and pouding chômeur (delicious hot with some vanilla ice cream!), brownies and that 'Almond Cake' I can find at the nearby grocery store.

I got a bit of a sweet tooth and a fancy palate satiated by lots of bakery around here :p

When it comes to that, ice cream!!!!!!! And probably cheesecake.

I wish you could taste Coaticook brand ice cream... its made with real cream and milk through a traditionnal method and comes in awesome flavours like cherry cheesecake, pistachio and orange :anime:

Cold Stone Creamery Ice Cream. I wish it wasn't so pricey, though...

Coaticook ice cream is pretty innexpensive, not cheap but not costy either. It comes in no-frill plain plastic tubs that are great afterward as containers.

Nothing tops a well-made red velvet cake with proper cream cheese icing. Nothing.

I've never had red velvet cake. What's in it?
