What are some of your favorite animated features from these smaller studios that you think deserve more recognition? I'm looking for unique storytelling or visual styles that might not be as well-known.

There are so many underrated animated features from smaller studios that are truly gems. Here are a few that really stand out for their unique storytelling and artistic styles:

1. "The Secret of Kells" (2009) - Produced by Cartoon Saloon, this film draws heavily from Irish mythology and history. The animation style is stunning, resembling illuminated manuscripts, and the story about a young boy's quest to complete a sacred book is incredibly engaging. It beautifully weaves themes of creativity and courage, making it a must-watch.

2. "Song of the Sea" (2014) - Also by Cartoon Saloon, this is a follow-up to "The Secret of Kells." It's inspired by Irish folklore and follows a young boy and his sister, who is a selkie. The hand-drawn animation is breathtaking, and the emotional depth of the characters and the story about family and loss really resonate.
