Fans disgusted with Final Fantasy XIII

So far what I'm hearing about the game it sounds completely unappealing to me. I was already uninterested in the FFVII rehash and now I think I might just pass it all together. Lack of towns let alone items, from what I hear a sub par story that is more or less the same as FFVII's, gameplay being incredibly linear, gameplay sounding incredibly easy with no challenge (seriously healing completely after every fight?), and the entire game boiling down to "fight walk cutscene fight cutscene fight cutscene walk cutscene walk fight cutscene".

Also the oddest thing about the criticism is that multiple fans that imported the PS3 copy blame the flaws on the 360 Version for simply existing. Now that's just being immature.

They're not as linear as what I just described. By walk I mean you're just wheeling a character in a straight line rather than having some sort of freedom.

Lets use IV for example:
"Cutscene walk explore fight grind explore grind level up town grind fight dungeon cutscene fight level up walk grind explore grind walk cutscene"

So from the sound of things, it sounds like the game's suffering from Xenosaga syndrome.

After the story trailer I was actually kind of interested again, but this just sounds terrible even by JRPG standards

Holy hell...I actually had high expectations for this game. I honestly didn't think there'd be any other FF game worse than VIII.

Of course, I'm reserving further judgments until I actually play the game myself.

I actually liked 8 myself.

And yeah, I'm gonna reserve any judgement till I actually get the game in hand.

As my Birthday is a month after it's release, I'll most likely ask for it for my birthday.
