Eureka 7 joins IGPX on the "Friday Run"

oh? ah, wasn't very clear was i ^_^;; sorry. no, they're not starting over. i meant i still maintain my position about how too many good shows get shafted into the bad time slots. eureka 7 is continuing right where it was in the episode order. sorry for the confusion...

Okay, made whoopsie. Eureka 7 is still on Saturady, but now is it at 1am. All else that I said I still maintain ^_^; Matta ne

I knew something was wrong with this announcement. If Adult Swim didn't give up shows like Wolf's Rain, Witch Hunter Robin and Blue Gender, there was no way they would pass up Eureka 7, their ONLY action anime with new episodes right now. It would be stupid. Plus an AS show hasn't passed to Toonami/Miguzi since YYH, not long after AS Action started. If E7 moved to Fridays it would be definite proof of an anime/action cartoon block starting on Fridays.

i disagree. they ran more than half of cyborg 009 on friday night, and all thirteen episodes of .hack//LEGEND. and they're running DBZ right now, too. it's weird, because they aren't establishing an anime block, but a lot of anime gets stuck there. and i guess you're right about adult swim not really abandoning anime (though a couple shows have been wedged into some funny week night timeslots before), but they still aren't getting good ratings on it. remember that brief period where they had nothing but anime on saturday? the ratings tanked until they put a couple comedy shows back in. sad, really, but true...

What's to disagree with? Cyborg and .hack weren't very popular and they were Toonami shows. And technically, that *was* a block in itself, since CCF had definitely come to an end and the rerun had not started yet. SEED, Cyborg, .hack, and Duck Dodgers was two hours of shows that very much weren't CCs. It was just a block without an official name is all. And AS has never, so far as I can remember, not had a new anime running. (New to the network, or new episodes of an old series count.) Its got less to do with "abandoning" and more to do with "What's an Action block without action cartoons?"

Its quite possible that with the more adult themes that have been seen in E7 eps lately, they needed to put the show in a later block. I doubt it, but that's probably the case since E7 *is* a new show and no one airs a new show so late, ratings or not.

Personally, .hack//LoTB was a pretty good show. Though Sign was boring. Havn't checked out Roots yet, and im wondering if they would bring Roots to CN...

Nope. They treated Twilight like ****, so I doubt they'll ever get another Gundam or .hack or much of any anime without a promise that it will come to Toonami. Hell, they've already given MAR a death-knell by not putting it on Toonami. Not that it matters. They raped that manga to make a Saturday morning cartoon show instead of what it should have been: A successor to the bad-ass manga Flame of Recca. Then again, it *is* a successor to the shitty-ass anime Flame of Recca so I guess it works out.

your talking about the dubbed ones. I forgot. :P
I liked .hack//lotb subbed. So I don't know the differences.
Gundam I can't say much on since I still lack in the personal experiences there.
And I totally missed out on MAR having an anime.
