The ending of Evangelion episode twenty-six. Better than "End of...". I prefer ambigious endings that accomplish little things, not the bigger picture (which is always resolved ludicrously)

G1 ended twice for me, "Return of Optimus Prime" actually had a firm ending, Galvatron, in one of his better states of mind, shaking Prime's hand (despite his trying to feed him to a giant spider on Charr earlier), once Prime used The Matrix to cleanse the world of the hate plauge. The Matrix's power and wisdom was also dispersed, leaving a new generation, Prime's generation, to fill it.

Eva's ending is one I intensely dislike because they killed Misato off. Shinji and Asuka's relationship would be dubious at best and they never bothered to flesh it out more.

G1's ending I disliked because by that point I didn't care for Optimus anymore. He was just too... I guess idealized at that point. His best moments for me, were some of the series two episodes where he acted more human.

I think ressurrecting Optimus and making him leader again was a cheap way out instead of doing what they should have done and handled Rodimus's character. He should have been the one that finished the fight with Galvatron by KILLING Galvatron and ending the Great War. He was the more human of the two Primes to me and more relatable.

I did like some of what Headmaster did with regards to bringing Rodimus back, killing Optimus again and some other things but on balance the whole season I disliked because it got really... I don't want to say Japanese, things like the four great warriors from the sky (Autobot headmasters), and their combination attack which killed Galvatron just felt really out of place and served as a precursor fow why many of the latter series didn't really work over here I feel.

One thing that I disliked about the ending of GSD, was that it never actually focused more on the revealing of Rey's past, nor the connection that was suppose to explain about Neo being another one of the De Flaga clones, and making Mwu coming back from the dead as Neo. Plus, there were not enough action scenes for Yzak, Dearka, Shiho(even though I perfer that she would actually have a speaking in the show), Lacus in the repaired, Strike Rouge, Waltfeld in his customized Gaia Gundam, and the DOM Troopers. But one of the main disappointments is that there was not one moment that Kira and Shinn would have had their final decisive battle, as well as the final confrontation between Neo and Rey. Good thing the 4 "What If" endings of GSD: Generation of C.E. were better.

Well now, where shall I began. I thought the only parts that I didn't like about the ending was that Masumi never actually used his power of darkness. Ryuuon and Gajah's fate were very lame. The little girl who was Mr. Voice never actually said, "It's time that you guys finally see the real me." Instead, she stayed inside her little room acting as her alter ego. That is just sad.:disappoin

All I can think of right now is L4yer Cake... it was ambiguous about X's outcome and a lot of people didn't like that he was clapped by such a punk, but I thought it did a good job exemplifying the dangerous unpredictability of the criminal underworld that Temple talked about in his "welcome to the layer cake" speech.

There's gotta be more... I'll ponder.

I loved the TV series Ryuki ending. Apparenlty a some others didnt like it though and the production apparently didnt like it so much that they did a different conclusion in movie form. I hated the movie version ending.

Mortal Kombat Konquest: I loved the ending. But I dont know what the majority thought of it. It was dark and unfinished so Im sure people were like "wth" but I loved it. The villain wins. All the heroes die. The end. Amazing. The final battle between Shao Kahn and Raiden was do powerful and climactic.

Your a better man then me... all I really wanted out of the ending was to explain things and it barley made a lick of sense, but still yeah it was a good ending.

I felt it was kind of ironic with the conclusion. Shinji only finally let go of his inhinbitions in "End of..." (which is handled much better in episode twenty-six), yet by the time he could finally understand and accept Asuka's frustrations and feelings with him, she had inhibited all of her own emotions due to the breakdown she sustained (barring the side that loved him, of course it ended a few minutes after that before it was made clear), They switched roles, and "End of" ended making it ambigious as to whenever or not he could nurse her back to recovery, or if Asuka would have to go through the same events of episode twenty-six

It's a decent idea, but the execution was unreallistic, even by EVA standard

Another strength of episode twenty-six is that I think both Shinji and Asuka shared the same dreamscape, and came to an understanding of each other, and we leave their lives and story with that. EVA should never been about the second impact, more like Nadesico or a war and problem we'll never see entirely resolved.

I agree here, the third season's best episodes like "Dark Awakening" and "The Burden Hardest To Bear" show the consequences of having someone that young ascend to the throne too quickly. It shows initial flaw in The Matrix's wisdom, but by the end of those episodes, Rodimus shows it was wise to select him

"Return of Optimus Prime" was the first time Hasbro decided to just abandon certain character-developments because the fans didnt like it, and they sadly began their double-edged habit of listening to them. At least later fan publications strove to reestablish him as a capable leader and an equal to Prime
