Elemental or Tech based Sentai?

I'm more of a sci-fi guy, so I'd say tech.

Besides, I think the whole giant robot thing makes more sense with a tech-based team.

I'm assuming for the purpose of the thread we're also talking power animals when we're talking elemental?

Because I tend to like tech but I dig elemental to though one of my problems is elemental/power animal series seem to suffer the most from gratuitous overgimmicking.

How so?

Well, I think mostly that it's gone so far beyond each hero having the elemental animal that represents their powers and character. Now that's not to say no tech series has ever had more than one combiner.

But especially since GaoRanger it's become so common to have a ton of power animals crammed into the show leading to these fugly and nearly immobile pile-on combiners.

Now, Sentai sells toys of course. I don't have an issue with that. But my problem is overkill. It begins to feel less like a natural part of the story and more of a blatant Bandai buy-me thing. Since they're magical its easy to just keep them popping up constantly to meet Bandai's quotas.

Elemental, specially with a bit of 'mythological' stuff. I don't know, Tech is a bit boring to me... usually. That said, I didn't like how they handled the 'animal power' in Gao and Gekiranger (although the late is one of my favorite sentais).
