Ultraman Saga wants you
Looking for a decent one for an amateur (myself) and I want to know what you guys use to take your shots.
Any advice from any expert photographers here in HJU?

I use a Nikon D-70. It's a classic, but I suggest you start with D-60 since it's cheap and I believe it's still out in the market because of its popularity. With this type of photography, I suggest you study how aperture and shutter speed affects your shots taken since you'll be pretty much engaging in constantly adjusting your aperture and shutter speed depending on the type of shot you will be taking (still, moving, scenery, etc.) and the available lighting.

Me, my camera, and one of my subjects:

Sample shots of my subjects with my D-70 (I forgot what my aperture and shutter speed setting was, sorry.):

*Note that I didn't need to be artistic with this shot since my focus was documenting the event.

Yeah my choice was between the Nikon D90 or the Canon T2i in October and the Canon has better video, but the Nikon has better picture-taking qualities..

So.. both are GREAT starter DSLRs and I'm really happy with my Nikon! :3 Reasonably priced, too. Look up some reviews or sites that compare cameras :3

Good luck!

Awesome shots, musashi!

Looks like I might land myself a D3100. Getting a lot of good words about it over here

Just throwing in Pentax K-x and K-r out there as an alternative :) It's got a lot of good points on top of the D3100 such as body shake reduction, limited lenses and backwards compability (and some points where D3100 is better as well). Since you're in malay the Petnax support should be pretty decent. There's quite a dedicated community of users there.

Here's some shots from my K-x (D3100 contemporary), K10D (D200 contemporary), and K100D (D40 contemporary)

Thanks! Grats with your new camera, just take note of your aperture and shutter speed when taking photos. You should understand your camera, when to use program and manual so that you can have a better control of whatever photo you create. Ganbatte!~
