DSi or DSi XL?

Saw a yahoo article on how not to get the XL cause of shorter battery life and the bigger screen makes the picture more pixelated (is that the word?) or something.

So.....Dsi or like everyone says, 3DS.
XL actually has better battery life, and any graphics degradation that comes from the bigger screen is negligible. It's impossible to notice unless you're looking for it. With a magnifying glass. While playing a game that sports full-screen-sized 2D artwork like Phoenix wright. With the XL around, the DSi just isn't worth it--unless you have tiny hands.

The 3DS is just around the corner, but we know next to nothing about what its launch price or lineup will be. If you need a DS now, I heartily recommend the XL.

Well, that's a fail way of combating piracy. Thanks a lot Nintendo.
Actually I read they changed it since the DSi because of the way wireless works in different regions. Or something like that. In other words they updated connectivity with routers but the downside was the region locks.

Yes we do know the launch price. Nintendo said it was going to be 25,000 yen. http://blogs.forbes.com/oliverchian...3ds-launch-dates-and-price-in-japan-revealed/

Sorry but you are wrong in the Japanese price. 25000 Japanese yen = 301.6400 US dollars
Doesn't matter. The exchange rate may make it 300 here but theres no way it's gonna be 300. 250 is more realistic as typically prices here reflect at a 100 yen to a dollar. We know it's that price in japan but thats in japan. Things are usually more expensive there anyways including games.

If you want the XL, wait for the 3DS instead. If you want a portable and affordable DS, get the DSi, but also get it later when the 3DS is released because prices are dropped. Either way, it's best to wait for the 3DS' release before buying anything. The XL is larger and it possibly is bulkier for someone who uses smaller DS systems, but yeah, DSi looks better in most ways, Almost everything points to not using a DS XL.

I still have yet to hear a reason why the DSi outperforms the XL. It has better (and more adjustable) battery life. The screen is bigger. The graphics downgrade is--I'll say it--a myth. The only strike against is it for people with small hands.

Nintendo has historically changed its system launch prices based on territory. While it very well may be $300 when it gets to the US, the Japanese price is never one to go on.

Exchange rates also fluctuate.

The DSi and the DSi Xl are the same thing. The XL is just bigger, and it has the advantages you listed. I think some people just latch on to myths and go with them come hell or high water.

I hope so. But even if the 3DS is 250 in the US, that is still way to much. If the portable system costs more than the regular console from a company there are issues.
