Drama or not... Kamen Rider

People can call it what ever they want. They can call it nutsofuckhalowaztuberklin as far as I go, but to me Toku is not drama.

i've been reading this and it seems that everything that's related to film and tv series is the word geki which means drama (Not fierce theirs an other kanji for that) Their isn't really a word for "Tv Show" in Japan I assume, So basicly Drama in Japan isn't seen as an genre but and diffrent word for tv show. ah so that's why it's called tokusatsu drama. but okay in Japan The word for "Drama" and "Tv Show" Means the same for them they all call it Geki... Basicly wheter you Say tokusatsu Drama or Tokusatsu Tv show it doesn't really matter in "Japan" It's the Same thing.

Of course it is drama. If it has a story then it has drama, else you just wind up with a string of random battles like Ultra Fight or Redman. But even then if the fight is any good then it will be a drama all unto itself what with the ebb and flow of battle, that's how it works.
But since it is a show that prominantly features special effects then it falls under the tokusatsu subgenre - just like all those dramatic anime that fall under the anime moniker because they are animated.

It's Japanese Power Rangers. It's guys in leather/plastic beating up other guys in rubber costumes. This is what they primarily are. Star Trek is not classified as a war drama, and Batman Begins is not classified as a romance.
Now, if we have a Kamen Rider show without Kamen Riders/Kaijin/silly toys then we'd have a drama, but that's not Kamen Rider.
That's my opinion, anyway.
