We played Dragonbane in an RPG camp. A full 5-day from noon till late night, three sessions a day. It was amazing. I have played RPGs since 1996 all the way through D&D to 5E, White Wolf, Fate, Numenera and a few others.
Never have I had such anxiety and adrenaline rushes going on nonstop. The game system is clearly to blame. With every combat, there was this overarching feeling that this combat is the last and everyone gets killed. And that feeling kept accompanying us from combat to combat, from session to session. Perhaps on the fourth day, we had an encounter that we had a tiny bit of confidence going into.
The advancement system is great. After four days, most of the players got heroic abilities. That is in 12-13 sessions. Some heroic abilities make your character significantly more powerful.
I absolutely recommend this gaming system.
Oh, and last but not least, to DM a Dragonbane session is a breeze compared to any other gaming system. 1) Monster always hits. 2) Monsters' actions are predefined and rolled for (and they still often scare the bejesus out of the players).
