Dragonball Kai - Talk UP!

They said so? There aren't enough of them anyway.

I like DBK. It's cleaner and it takes me less time to watch without missing things that are important. I get much less "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" and more DBZ per episode and it looks better. It's not adding to the "mass" but it is adding more to its value for me.

I do prefer it because of how easy it will be to re-watch it in the future. That and the English dub is actually good this time, so I can re-watch that without cringing at stupid dub lines and performances.

The fan whining is mostly because of jp cast changes, the new music score and the poorly redrawn scenes. I don't fully understand it as I think the good FAR outways the bad but fans will be fans.... I do miss Kageyama though.:disappoin

Now that we have the whole ''Yamamoto's score is being removed from Kai due to plagiarism and being replaced with the original one from Z'', I wonder if that will make any of them change their minds about the series..

Why do people like the Majin Buu saga anyway? I don't see why.

It seems to get dismissed by a lot of people but I enjoy it.

-Great Saiyaman :P
-Mr. Satan gets a purpose
-Vegeta's character gets to come to a close
-Toriyama got more freedom to do what he wanted so it goes back to a more comical and magical feel like how the series started
-Introduced some cool concepts like fusion (imo)

Well, I think any backlash about this and Kai is more of an ''at least finish what you started!'' kind of thing than about it not happening because of liking the Buu arc.

I'm sorry I didn't mention those. They slipped my mind. I honestly have to grab one of those these days! :O_O: Why aren't they as heavily advertised is my question.

It's probably hard to try and market yet another version of what the average consumer would think is the same thing. The Dragonboxes are more geared towards the fans who know that most of the previous releases of Z were **** for various reasons. It took Funimation 10 years but they finally got it right!

Apologies for the long winded post. :P

I hadn't heard about this, could you go into it a little more? (Or just provide a link.)

Scroll down to the post for March 10th 2011.

Yamamoto has been creating the music for most of the video games since the 90s and it's been known in the fandom that a bunch of the tracks were very similar to other songs. It's likely this came up now (with only 4 episodes of Kai left unfortunately) because of the ones plagiarized from big budget movies like Terminator and Avatar.

I think Saiyaman was the one thing I liked from that saga.

I've said that Dragon Ball Z could have ended after the Saiyan saga, after the Frieza saga, and after the Cell saga. It fits. Everything just adds onto it.

One of the reasons why I didn't like the Buu saga was because it really didn't go anywhere special. The Saiyan Saga helped explore some of Goku's past and his origins. The Frieza saga was to protect the universe and it showed how much Goku could change and it showed how strong Goku really is (even though it is later just said that Frieza, THE STRONGEST IN THE UNIVERSE, is not the strongest and he is one of the weakest). The Cell saga was passing the torch to Gohan (which was the original intention of Z). The Buu saga was just fighting and extending Dragon Ball Z.

It also doesn't look like complaints are being made for the better reasons. It's like there are complaints because there can be complaints.

All things considered I still ended up going with the original Kid Buu Saga set, from back in 2002. I don't want a cropped version... and I'm certainly not waiting til late 2011 for the final Dragon Box.

Call me impatient, but I would still pick the original version over the red bricks any day. The print quality isn't THAT bad really. By any means.

Dragon Ball Kai has officially been cancelled, and an episode earlier than planned at that. :sly:

Wow, that sucks. I wonder what Funi's doing  They have it being released in the US too :loltongue: And they've already released DVDs with these "pirated" songs. I wonder if they're allowed to release to the end or not. Ah well, we still have 70 different versions of DBZ out of DVD, although it would be funny if OOP Kai prices start to sky-rocket

Wouldn't shock me in the least. Look at the prices for the Cooler two-packs from 2009. Those things are through the roof, solely because they're OOP. :disappoin

Really? Those are OOP already? I thought all the thin two-packs are around 10 bucks?
