Dragon Age: Origins

I just had my first real dragon battle (not counting random dragon-lings guarding treasure) and it was insane, seriously. I think that largest member of my party didn't even come up to it's knee, and this thing kept setting s on fire and then knocking everyone away like rag dolls. After a few tries and a lot of potions we finally took him down, but the battle lasted a good 10 minutes.

I wonder how the other ones will go now that I have some experience under my belt.

Keith Justice to get the Blood Dragon armor you just have to buy it new, you didn't need to pre-order it. I didn't pre-order it, it was in the case once I opened it up XD

okay in all honesty I just bought this game for the Blood Dragon armor for ME2 XD the game it self is imo........meh >_><_<.....now don't hit me!!!! I actually am not really into RPG's. I mean I loved ME but that game was a little more fast pasted and the skills and item system were a little easier to understand.....and that may be the case for me the game is just over my head?

I'll be going back to DA:O very soon....after I get 1000 in MW2 lol

I was also sold on the game to get the ME2 armor, but........ dear gods. This game.................. this game........................ holy mother of The Maker.

Welcome to the pantheon of my all time favorite games.

This game........... is incredible..... O____O

I actually just completed it. Very good story, great game all around... but I feel like the console versions are missing out on a lot. Not from the game itself, while I definitely prefer the PC layout over the console layout, it's definitely manageable that way, but they'll be missing out on all the great stuff the community and even a lot of what the developers are going to be doing.

The toolkit is barely more than a week old and already I've seen some promising additions in the form of character mods, new specialty classes (Arcane Archer's FTW), actually being able to work community made quests into the the main story.

Plus some of the development team are taking their own time to make new free content for the PC version. Adding on certain things that they wanted in the game itself, but for some reason or another it was pulled out, such as adjusting the Shapshifting specialty class to also allow drake forms, probably pulled from the game because it would make the shifters too overpowered, but they plan to add it back in as optional content.

I hate Bioware RPGs. Always trying to suck me out of doing something else that, come to think of it, is actually RATHER important, like mugging for exams. I hope I'm not addicted or anything, but it's taking me everything I have just to stay in this chair and look at my notes.

And yes, I'm also aware that instead of studying my astronomy and/or forensic science notes I'm posting on this fine forum.:P

I feel your pain. NWN and NWN2 took a lot of time away that could be been used towards my psych classes. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your outlook) DA:Origins came out right after my company shut down it's west coast offices, and I finished it today, just before I start my new job on Monday. Hey, now I have almost 6 months worth of severance pay to use for the DLC!

I probably won't miss the fan created content with how slow I play games anyway. Hopefully BioWare'll find a way to hook us up.

I'm still trying to get a handle on the controls and what I can do from the radial menu. That and how my special attacks work. Some seem to recharge and others seem... to make my character glow. O_o Not easy keeping track of everything when the whole screen blows up with action.

I just got Morrigan in my party and being a Farscape fan, it is no end of glorious that she's voiced by THE Claudia Black.

Some real gems of dialogue in here too. Like, "Yeeesss..... swooping is bad." 0_o

Really glad EA's marketing campaign and promise of ME2 Dragon Armor had me cave and get this game. This is the most fun I've had video gaming since KOTOR and Mass Effect. And I don't wanna feel like I'm cheating on Mass Effect, but.... I'm kinda liking DA:O more. The sense of scale is muuuuuch bigger with the battles and the feeling of the world around me. That and I really dig the first person narrative while gaming like this versus the third person we get through Shepard.

With this game, I don't mind the horror stories I was hearing about MW2 ending quickly anymore, cuz I can't wait to play more of this.

Too bad my 360 died, but thankfully my roommate's got a 360.

just wait until you get some epic kills under your belt. They make the boss fights seem that much more satisfying.

As for Bioware hooking you up. You're set for the 2 years worth f DLC and expansions, but I doubt console versions are going to get any of the unofficial content for obvious reasons. Foremost among them being that these are all being developed for the PC version, and I don't see bioware taking the time to port over content they don't have any legal rights to for console versions.
