DOA: The movie =/

Yay for fanservice! Robin Shou and Collin Chou cameos!! XD <3

I've never played any of the DOA games, but watching this movie at least made me take some time to research the story and character backgrounds. From what I've read, it seems to me the movie gave a good tribute to the original game series<---What the **** were you reading!?.

Anyway, I suggest everyone to watch the movie if they enjoy watching many hot womenz kicking ass for an hour and a half XD

Keyphrases bolded, I honestly doubt there was any fan service in the way, Robin Shou aka Liu Kang is sort of fan service, but not really to Dead Or Alive. How can their be fan service if not one of the creators of DOA worked on the movie? Also you can't really claim to spot any fan service if you are not a fan of the series. And when all of the actresses look nothing like the characters they portray, theres a good chance that their will be no fan service, infact its enough to create fan hate. The actors, however, are pretty good representations of the characters (no actual Jann Lee though), except for the Chinese guy from the Matrix that plays Hayate, Hayate is alot younger than that, and he's Japanese not Chinese =/. It was cool to see Ninja Black from Kakuranger play Ryu Hayabusa. And from the opening, it looks like the movie doesn't even follow the storyline of any of the games. I played just about every DOA except 3 and the Xtreme series, I know the story pretty well. However, the intro to the fight scenes in the tournament parts were pretty cool.

But overall, I'm probably gonna think this movie is in the bottom 3 worst video game movies of all time after I watch it. At least the Street Fighter movie was entertaining =/, the DOA movie looks like it can intrest you for about 15 minutes then you'll just skip to the end. If only the producers let Itagaki in on the project...well Itagaki wouldn't have made a movie I think, cause he stopped caring for fans after the DOAX nude mods were made.

Also the girls for Ayane and Tina made me puke. Only sort of hot one there is the one for Hitomi. Holly Valance is borderline, and Devon Aoki is just a "DO NOT WANT" for her playing Kasumi.

Now if you saw Itagaki's choices for the girls, they are ACTUALLY good, Aya Ueto (Ninja Azumi) was his choice for Ayane, if she dyed her hair purple it would have been a good choice. The DOA movie had very inaccurate representations of the girls

When I say fanservice, I use it in a general sense like how I think it's hott that they've got some sexy women kicking ass in the movie or how they have Robin Shou's cameo as a pirate gag.

I mean you're right, I know absolutely nothing about the game series so I guess I'm not a "fan", but I guess I was lucky in that sense to not have an original to compare to and nitpick all the flaws, but rather to just sit down and enjoy a fun movie.

The only info I read was on wiki of the general storyline and the character backgrounds, so I only got a basic understanding of the original series, but even with that, it allowed me to enjoy and appreciate the movie even more. Again, with my very basic knowledge of DOA, I at least thought the movie was a good tribute. I mean come on, these types of movies are generally never perfectly accurate to the original things they're based upon.

And I was pleasantly surprised to see one of my favorite Matrix characters in the movie too. I thought ZOMG it's Seraph! I didn't really care that they cast him to play a Japanese role. I mean he's Asian, kicks ass, is really popular, who's going to care?

I'm going to stick to my original suggestion that everyone to watch the movie if they enjoy watching many hot womenz kicking ass for an hour and a half XD "keyphrase bolded" lol

Oh fan service just for Martial Arts fans, Robin Shou's character was meant to be Jann Lee, but the producers felt like throwing out all of the Chinese DOA characters.

Well the whole movie was made as a ploy for more money, not for fans. That is undeniable, if it was for fans, some of the DOA staff would work on it themselves, except maybe Itagaki, in interviews he rants alot about how he finds modders for DOAX to be "very stupid and should use their talents for better things" he also made the gesture that he thought these modders and alot of DOA fans that like the girls so much to make hentai out of it have absolutely no life in some interviews.

Well if you played any of the games, you'll know alot more about the story and the personalities than anything you'll find on Wiki...which is strange because usually wiki has twice as much info than what the game is (although some of it may not be true). Also DOA like I stated earlier, was never meant to be for the fans in any way, nor did the producers even care for the fans or put any effort to make it DOA like, just a ploy to get as much money as possible, just like Bloodrayne and Resident Evil movies, so DOA didn't really pay that much tribute, infact if it did anything, it easily became the worst DOA installment so far. And I know most of these movies are not to be 100% accurate, but I don't think you understand how inaccurate this movie is, its just about....10% accurate, probably less.

He's also my favorite Matrix character, he is a cool actor and all, but he REALLY doesn't fit the part of Hayate. And FANS CARE, sure they wont care that he's Chinese playing japanese, but they will care that theres no way in hell he can portray Hayate correctly.

Still though, its your choice to like the movie or not =/ It would be nice to see a real DOA movie though.
