Do you feel that Decade kinda went overboard?

Did you not see what Mr.Monk said? It doesn't matter if you accept it or not, Toei isn't catering to you. Just watch the show, and if the writing doesn't meet your standards don't watch it because you can't change it... unless you kill Inoue and become a writer.

What fun? Why do people assume that one has to abandon all sense of "standards" in order to enjoy shows like this? Why is it considered bad to think (Oh I'm sorry, "over-analyze)"? Why do so many so-called fans box themselves into the mentality of "it is what it is, we can't do anything about it, so stop complaining and just accept it"? Why is it when people call a show bad, there are folks who say the detractors just aren't "having fun" with the show?
I've been very clear in my responses. I understand if you don't enjoy it. Your opinion is perfectly valid. But when media goes off the deep end, I just walk away. Why waste energy worrying about it? Agito is still there, as are many of the other classic toku. And you never know when a new project will pop up.

But Kamen Rider isn't made for us. It's made for 2-11 Japanese boys. The farther you get away from that mindset, the less it will resonate with you.

I dislike Hal Jordan in Green Lantern. Kyle Rayner is my GL. So the main GL title is not for me. Sure it could be, but why worry about maybes? It is what it is. Either you enjoy it or you don't. I read GLC, as it has what I want. When GL becomes what I want, then I'll return to it. Anything else is sadly just banging on the wall.

Why is the belief that the genre could be something a lot more (as many shows have proven) shot down for the closed-minded "kiddy show material that can never be anything else, it's my guilty pleasure" view? Those are the people who need the pity, in my not-so-humble opinion.
Again, no one is disagreeing that the genre can't be more. But this specific show is what it is. It's not changing. It's not going to become more adult. We've come a long way since the days of Metalder, B-Fighter, etc. Tsurubaya is arguably one of the few that make toku with a really classic feel to it. But that's not Kamen Rider, that's not Sentai.

Btw, I read Kamen Rider Spirits for my classic fix. And I read
Zetman
for my adult-style fix.

And who knows, perhaps Kamen Rider W will be the one that works for you. They seem to be going with a more classic design, even if the belt and casting decisions seem to be more inline with the latter Heisei shows.

Fanbase yes, primary fanbase no. The primary fanbase for KR in Japan are little kids, and soccer moms.

Really, is this Soccer Mom demographic even true? Or are people just making that up because they hire young teenage boys?

I am not saying this is definite proof but when I was in Japan last year, browsing through toy stores, magazine stores (the toku section) and watching the Kiva movie, there were barely and mom's who seem interested in toku. I saw dozens of salarymen going through the Newtype magazines, shopping for SIC's and RAH's and middle age and young adults/teenagers watching the Kiva movie. Only a few mothers were at the movie (even kids for that matter), and they seem to be just babysitting rather than enjoying the film.

The idol photobooks seem to also attract younger females like school girls than mom's and also I saw more younger teenage girls at the Kiva movie than older ones. And the younger girls are going to the movie for enjoyment while those mom's were pretty much there to take care of their kids, so really, this apparently HUGE soccer mom demographic doesn't seem very apparent or visible from my experience.

I see. Well that's great, mothers love young men.

You all know there is a variety of jokes I/we can spew right now, but I'll hold off and let someone go first.

:laugh::laugh:

Am I the only one who finds this whole thing a tad repugnant?

Isn't Japan suffering a low birthrate? Aren't women marrying at later dates and pursuing their own careers? Where are all these housewives coming from? It doesn't make any sense.
